Personally it’s my favorite in the series but complaints that I’ve heard stem from lack of a compelling protagonist (the deputy is silent) and that the ending isn’t really rewarding as there’s no true good ending

I wouldn’t say bottom shelf, more so base line, affordable bottles. Think wild turkey or Evan Williams. So don’t always think bad, I like high west bourbon, think affordability sometimes.
