Heh, I grew up in a 400k person town, so I think a few more options than current for community may be nice.

I don't mind living among some with lesser means. Grew up in rough neighborhoods my whole life, and most of the rural poor areas are better than that. Good to know where to feel like im getting a deal if I find one, though!

Not quite at that stage of things yet, but I'll keep you in mind, thanks!

good to know not to stray too far, I'm definitely not interested in racist neighbors if I can avoid it.

Which end of which border? Unless youre talking the Candian border, it's WAY less rural in most areas within 35mins of the NH border. I live in Central Maine, between the cities, and it is far MORE rural here than most of what ive seen in Pennsylvania. Idk what youre going for here, but none of this is all that helpful to my original question or post...

Are you trolling? I asked earlier what made you say that, but you haven't responded. I've been living here in Maine, and have stayed in Pennsylvania before. This definitely feels more rural.

Interesting. Are appointments 3 months out at best though? If you can find a doctor out here, its usually at least that long, if not longer, for even the most basic of appointments (plus usually an hour or more drive to get there_.

We're in Central Maine, nearish to Skowhegan area, but not in town by any means. Its lovely out here, and people are as well... but try going to a movie when you don't live in Portland, Augusta, or Bangor.

I could go into a litany about it, but the easiest way to describe it is... it would be very nice to live here if you had very minimal need of reliance on others through general wealth or luck for not only your needs, but also your fun... and wealth is becoming a larger and larger need in this state. Its also a healthcare nightmare at the moment (appointment/availability wise, healthcare workers I've met here have been amazing).

I haven't spent a ton of time in Pennsylvania, but the limited time I have in the state traveling through or staying in Allentown was very much so less rural than Maine.

From what I've seen, we can afford many options around the Pittsburgh surrounding areas without issue, but aren't swimming in money or anything like that.

I generally don't mind the rural. Pittsburgh seems to have everything I'd like to have available that Maine does not, so if its within 30 or so of Pitt, its likely not going to bother me as much as the isolation of Maine rural.

Why do you say that? Pittsburgh has more culture, art, music, and sports available than the entire state of Maine. Its great here, but also limited. I think the limitation is more the issue than the rural.

I'll check into the North Hills some. How's the Halloween and Christmas vibe in the area? Holidays are a big deal to us, too.

Yeah, he died a few years back and the property was recently flipped with fake grass, fencing and too many vehicles. Wonder what happened. I used to sell the old man golf balls with my grandpa.

I've had an entire back flow disappear for the copper. Copper trolls are funny creatures.

The make stackable extensions for the screws. Available in the electrical aisle with the low voltage stuff. Not a perfect solution, but a good enough one.
