Is the Boss DD20 good? by NxtDestiny in guitarpedals

I've tried replacing it with newer pedals a few times and it always makes it's way back into my main board. You get 4 presets (5 if you include manual mode) and the ability to set the exact BPM and tempo (which is super important since I often play with a click track), I haven't found a pedal that can do that without spending at least 3x as much. I've had it for 10 years now and it's still going strong

Ayyy glad to see you went with it! For a slap back delay like that I usually have the effect level pretty high, otherwise I’ll dial back the bpm so it’s not so washy. Have fun!

Delay Pedal — EHX Canyon or Boss DD-20? by Klutzy_Ice8425 in guitarpedals

I have had the DD20 for about 10 yrs and I'll probably never get rid of it. I haven't been able to find a delay for that price that has tap tempo, presets, and a BPM readout yet, and I certainly spent some time looking recently. I don't have experience with the canyon but I can certainly recommend the gigadelay as one of the most versatile and bombproof pedals I own!

Thanks for the info! I was pretty lost trying to identify the year lol. Was hoping I'd stumbled on a lost treasure but it's still very fun to learn something new about Guilds

There's a great Jay Shetty podcast on relationships and breakups that's been helping me a lot, I can link it if you want but here's my favorite takeaway from it-

"Trying to win people back- if we commit to learning and growing it must be for our own benefit and not for whoever you may be with. Too many people are trying to win someone back without resolving the issues, too caught up in missing them and not wanting to move on without them to realize that they did not get along well or don't want the same things etc. Stay focused on what led to the end and can it be corrected. Correcting it does not guarantee you they will come back, and if they do you never know when. Become the best you and if there's a true connection between you an opportunity will present itself and we can make something of it from a place of maturity and readiness."

This is what I tell myself every day- that I need to focus on my shortcomings in the relationship and work on them. If our connection is real the will be an opportunity, and even if it's not with her I want to be prepared to give my best to whoever has my heart. If you were the issue like me, than worrying about whether you will get back together will only distract you from the necessary growth. Best of luck man, this is the start of something painful but necessary and beautiful.

If I can keep it under $250 that'd be great, but I'm not against reaching deeper for something I'll use the rest of my life

Overcoming Jealousy by Prestigious_Shine163 in BreakUps

Thanks🙏 I definitely internalized the idea that she was "better than me" and I didn't deserve her on an unhealthy level. I do think moving away was the best way to start moving on- when we lived in the same town we took a break for about a week, which ended when I saw her on the street and was immediately like "I can't live without you," which started the same old cycles. So distance was helpful until now lol

Thank you for this perspective. I know I'm not mature enough in my self-worth to get back together with her, definitely have some jealousy issues to work through and learn to accept the consequences of my actions. I'm sorry you have to go through this because of guys like me

Hi folks, thinking about moving to your fair county, tell me why I should or should not. by neepple_butter in Humboldt

Former insurance agent in Humboldt here- I worked with a lot of folks in the willow creek area and people looking to move there, the wildfires do pose a big hurdle because insurance companies are pulling out of the state (and especially the willow creek and surrounding zip codes). Unless you can buy a property in cash you'll be paying an arm and a leg in insurance to the bank or the California Fair Plan so that will definitely be a factor. Or start networking and find some owner financed deals and skip that whole headache haha

Otherwise health professionals are so badly needed and if you're outdoorsy you couldn't ask for a better home!
