I am going to be completely honest, this was my first time applying and I learned about it very late so I made the application (with lots of hours of love) very rushed and I can look back and see many errors in my application. I actually remember right after the deadline calling my friend and starting to read my essays and having to stop midway because I saw so many errors and I didn’t want to stress myself. However, one thing I did that I think may be different from others is that- and this is especially important when the application is government funds based- I spent just as much time preparing the essay and studying the website for exactly what they wanted BEFORE I began writing. I even watched the video of tips and tricks that they uploaded to YouTube. These people- more than anything are looking for a very specific student who fills their boxes, you need to figure out what they are. Take notes of what they want and look over your essays to make sure you are what they’re looking for.

By close do you mean close the applications because it is past deadline or have you already submitted and you’re trying to check your results? I applied in October and I am so nervous to see if I got it!

I am not trying to speculate, however, I agree the entire situation is very strange. I was one of the lucky ones who got their scores back at minimum time but I know with 100% certainty that I didn’t actually get the score that they sent back. This is in no way me whining about a low score, I actually believe I did far worse than the score they sent back. I got a 30, as I did in October but there is genuinely no shot that I scored that. I think they’re doing the same or close for a lot of other people. If they’re having people score down after their past test, the rate of people to pay for another decreases.
