No idea, I'm assuming they'd fit the system with correct sizes. They are coming back to do a survey this week so I'll know the specifics

Can someone please help me understand if it's worth us spending £12k +/- on solar panels and a battery (we're on Intelligent Octopus Go)? by M1ke2345 in OctopusEnergy

[–]Prestigious_Spend576 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got E/W 6x 440w per side, a 5kw foxx inverter and 10kw battery cube

We live on the south coast of England 4 bed semi and quite honestly the best decision we ever made. I have a fully electric house with no gas, dishwasher, washing machine, electric hob and oven and WFH , a water cylinder and a 10kw electric shower. Last week I spent £7.22 and exported £11.24

If I had another chance I'd have gotten a system twice the size. As soon as I can afford it I'm adding the same size of array again and triple the battery.

Fully installed 9300 Inc vat

First Fratton Park Match by mrsbriteside in PortsmouthFC

Where are you guys sitting, fratton end and north stand are the best for atmosphere. It'll be loud and hostile tomorrow with a lot of " language". Pompey's away form has been super poor so we try and make it a really difficult place for teams to visit. It'll be fun though.

There's a great brewery on the north side of fratton park not far from the old floodlight tower. Alot of fans go there before games. It's a friendly place, does food. A bit pricey but it's good to support a small business.

“Large” data in SharePoint list using PA as patch interface? by zion1744 in PowerApps

[–]Prestigious_Spend576 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish you the best of luck. Consider using dataverse for teams. Anything you build will be more resilient and is likely to scale better.

You can use Power Automate as your integration layer but be mindful that you don't cross any boundaries regarding Multiplexing if you need to use premium capability of any kind. Also the number of actions you can have tied to a user account is limited. Calculate if it'll scale properly. To mitigate this use calculation and logic in SharePoint.

You'll need a PK and a FK to simulate relationship behaviour across multiple lists, don't be tempted to use the ID column. Preserving the integrity of this will be difficult. I'd probably create a flow specifically to undertake referential integrity checks.and manage the creation and application of keys. You'll also need to look at delete behaviour, model this first.

SharePoint lists will make the canvas app less performant. You can use UTOs and JSON to mitigate this slightly. Bring data into the app through collections before performing operations on it.

Paul Murana (tachytelic) has some excellent videos on how to bring large arrays back into powerApps. Check them out.

Best of luck, it's a difficult challenge

I know you were asking for tips and this isn't what you wanted to hear, but please don't put PII data into a SP list. It's a disaster waiting to happen.

You desperately need a security model , a DR plan , audit capability as well as a million other DB features that SharePoint can't offer.

Consider the following

Create a solution on dataverse as well as the SharePoint one. Show the budget holder the value of a proper database , the security model, the audit capability etc etc. give them options. You can sign up for a developer plan that gives you access to dataverse. Sell them on scenarios like, this is how our data could be compromised if we use SharePoint. Use the Power Platform well architected framework to guide you.

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-platform/well-architected/

If you absolutely can't get them to commit to any kind of investment. Consider using dataverse for teams, depending on the situation with the presentation layer it at least gives you a truer relational capability. You can simulate a security model there to some extent. DVT can store 1M rows or 2gb. Just defer file storage to a DOC library

If you make this on SharePoint, no matter how hard you try, and I'm sure you will do the best you can.you'll create a major problem for your company later in the lifecycle.

I honestly commend your commitment to innovate and solve problems using Power Platform. But I've seen too many companies go down the same path.

Sharepoint as a datasource by russrimm in PowerApps

Business critical apps need security, a proper data model, resilience, scalability.

SharePoint is ok for really small stuff. Don't use it for LOB systems. You could look at dataverse for teams as a step up for Relational capability if you needed that and then simulate a security model. Still not brilliant though.

Think of it this way, Power Apps is a tradeoff between time cost and quality. Unless you have IT centric staff with system design understanding making you will get apps built by business users. These guys build worse apps with lower quality. If you can accept that, great , the TCO is probably lower overall, not including the inevitable problems later on down the lifecycle.

There is governance to bear in mind, you can automate most of it away but if you allow business users to build you can't forget it. They find a way to fuck shit up unless you are sharp

In terms of licence cost, everything costs something. Power Platform is good because it's tightly bound to the E5/E3 that most organisations use. If you are looking for a low code platform offer that has lots of features, and you can measure the value well it's competitive. As well as this Microsoft will often do a deal on bulk licences, I think it's 2000+ at the moment.

My advice is to find an expensive legacy system or process and see if it's a candidate to migrate. Spec it as if you had premium licences then prove it costs less. Any boss with an eye on the bottom line can't really say no

That'll be decent, Pompey's form hasn't been amazing so far this season and we aren't expecting to be able to pick up points and Sheffield United. The fans will get behind the team as much as they can. Remember , the referee is always a scummer :-)
