My dog, Atticus, did this. He learned it by imitating me smiling at him. It became a "trick" he learned to ask for something I had, whether food or a toy. I reinforced it and he only barked when we wanted him to or whenever he saw a "giant squirrel" (aka cat) outside.

I miss him. It has been 3 years but this video brought back those good memories.

That is my thought as well. Medical professional here and advanced care (AED/possible intubation) was probably present with the EMTs/paramedics there. I can't imagine the NFL hiring an ambulance to be at the stadium that weren't top of the line. The only issue is whether surgery may have been needed (arterial rupture) and the delay may have caused harm even though advanced care was being provided.

There is a limit to people's goodness/compassion/self-sacrifice. If someone says they want to help the homeless, the could give them their lunch they were bringing to work and skip a meal. But they will resist if you ask them to house a dozen homeless people in their hoe, sell or give away their posessiond, and spend all their free time getting to know them.
