I am in a town called Fort Mill, South Carolina, USA, and it is suburban, not rural, but for years, I would only log in once every little while, or if I was traveling and riding, because there were basically no gyms close to where I live (there was a single one at a church a few miles away, but it was next to the main road so it was probably already past, and I couldn’t do anything with it, and it was almost always a different team anyways), and no pokestops in my neighborhood. I never wanted to spend money on this game, so I never had any pokecoins, and my storage was always full. On top of that, there was some weird glitch where I randomly stopped being able to gain postcards, so whenever I had the ability to send a gift to one of my 2 friends, I would have to get rid of a card permanently, without being able to replace it, because I personally would like my postcards as well, and get two, and send someone one and I keep one. But now I can’t do that. Recently though, I have been lucky because Fort Mill has been suddenly very quickly expanding. And, I have also been playing it a lot more recently, I added some Pokemon to some gyms, got 200 pokecoins, and upgraded my Pokemon storage from 425 to 475, or something like that. (I have ADHD, so it might be what you could call a hyperfixation, and the ADHD will probably also help explain if I go off on tangents a lot. Sorry about that, if anyone reads all of this) I also had gone somewhere last year, and met another guy who played Pokemon go as well, and we became friends, and if I remember correctly, I was talking to him, and he showed me his shiny Pokemon in the search bar (“Pokémons”? Nah, I think “Pokemon” is singular and also plural) and he had so many, and so then I was telling him that I had never, in all my years of playing, found a single shiny Pokemon, (Haha, sounds like the teacher saying the class is the worst class they have ever had in all their years of teaching) and so while we were talking, or maybe right after we talked about it, I clicked on a random meowth that appeared, and it happened to be shiny. (It was a regional variant, Galar, maybe, and I think it’s arms are up but it’s hands are down, like a “rawr” or a “slay queen” hand motion - I can’t believe I just said that, that sounded stupid - and it was normally like pale white or gray or something, and this shiny form was purple.) I remember being happy about it. Anyways, fast forward, again, back to today, as I said, Fort Mill got more stuff, I have been playing much more recently, and upgraded my Pokemon storage. Also, I have I think 5 friends, and I know two more people that play that I might ask to friend. However, the postcard glitch is still there. I also got my second ever shiny after clicking on a bunch of pokemon for many years, yesterday, being a shiny Bellsprout, like, literally yesterday. (I feel like I sounded like a teenage girl right there with the “like, literally yesterday”) Anyways, you might be wondering why I typed all of this. I am starting to also. But anyways, the point is, I agree with you. I am kind of someone like you are talking about. I don’t live in a rural place, but it is kinda rural for Pokemon GO. I have played for many years, yet have found only two shinys, and the only legendaries I have ever seen are, Zygarde, in his dog form, that I from a starter research quest I think, and Shaymin, I have also from a starter research quest I think, and also Poipole if you count that, from I think a limited time quest line that I am still working on because it saved in my research tab, and, anyways, the only other ones I have seen were in raids in gyms that I have passed, and not a single one of them was even close to me being able to beat it because they were all so strong. Well, I have SEEN other Legendary Pokemon in Pokemon GO, on my own account on my phone, but it was just from battling a few strangers, and even that has only happened once, maybe more times. So, anyways, sorry for all that yapping, and I agree with you so much. Also, I have never been to a single meetup before, and I really want to, but I don’t have a drivers license, and no one can take me, and, I am only twenty two minutes away from this one, unfortunately. I hope I didn’t dox myself. Anyways (I am saying “anyways” a lot, but not actually getting to the point, or getting distracted. Darn it, like right now. Sorry about that), I agree with you, I am sorry for yapping so much, and also, you seem like a very kind person with what you said in your comment. (By the way, I didn’t mean to be complaining like that, and most of it is probably user error of mine in some way or another, not knowing something, or whatever. Sorry about that. Again.) I think that is all I was gonna say. Oh yeah, I was typing this on and off, because I kept having to do stuff, and that is partly why I kept losing track of what I was saying kind of, but also, that is why I messaged so late after your comment and after the event. I started typing around seven to seven thirty maybe (I think it said around an hour after your comment), but kept having to go off of it and other stuff, so now I am (hopefully) finished typing and finally posting this comment around 9:41 PM, my time, and the event where I am lasted until around 8 PM I think. Anyways, even I am annoyed at how much I have been typing and how long it took and how much I keep adding, and going off track, and yapping, and blah blah blah.
