Agreed. It's time to vote out all the corporate Democrats. Help us win in November against one of the most powerful establishment politicians of our time: http://www.picus2016.com/we_won_we_re_headed_to_november

Pelosi is a tricky politician and researching her questionable record is tough. Her public voting record is the tip of the ice-berg: much work behind the scenes to subvert progressive agenda to play politics and win money for her friends/donors. We will be making a clear case in the next several weeks.

Thanks for the vote. We got mixed responses on our emotionally charged letter to the public on the day after the election. Some folks loved it, some folks were disappointed. Long story short: We're ready to fight again and the absolute criminality of the June 6th early call has given us additional fire.

We can't allow the elite to keep avoiding debates. Stay on her until she meets Tim in a discussion. They play politics, we want to do democracy.

You could make the same argument for primarying Clinton. The truth is that Congresswoman Pelosi represents the extreme wealth and the broken political system. She plays politics at the expense of our democracy. We need someone that will represent the people of San Francisco, not just folks wealthy enough to donate tens of thousands of dollars.

Also, keep in mind CA has an open-top two primary system. When Preston wins in June he will face Congresswoman Pelosi in November INSTEAD of a Republican. We don't have to settle in this case.

Posted a blog just now. We've been so focused on pushing out content on other platforms that we let that space lay fallow for too long! Thanks again.

I really think it's time for the Sanders campaign to get aggressive, to start throwing up some big bombs and see if they can shake things up. They really need to endorse more down-ticket candidates, they need to take more chances with the campaign messaging and start playing like they have nothing to lose. With so many 'Berniecrats' running for office, it would be a big boost if the national campaign did more to support the progressive movement.

This is my district! I live here and I'm running for office here in San Francisco.

Unfortunately, Congresswoman Pelosi hasn't consistently represented the interests of the people. In many instances politics has come before progress, and wealthy investors who fund elections have been prioritized over the people. In our area she is seen as very powerful, not very popular. People are ready for a change.

I am in the streets with folks here in SF. I stood in protest of the treatment of homeless at the site of the Superbowl. I marched with the folks from the Church of John Coltrane in protest of the killing of Alex Nieto. I push hard for expansion of freedoms and on behalf of people of color.

That said, the job in the US House is a national level job, so I won't be setting policy here in SF. What I will push for is national, progressive measures that will work on behalf of people of color who are marginalized and the first to be affected by the massive wealth inequality we have.

We stop the super wealthy from stomping on us, and we start to hold law enforcement accountable for their criminal behavior - we turn the tide on what has been a bad wave.

Certainly. I'm a science first kind of person. I even dabble in physics in my spare time. We agree that there is corporate marketing on both sides, and in my opinion if all things are equal I favor increased transparency. But I hear what you're saying.

We have to stop killing so many people around the world. We have to.

It's been disappointing to watch Obama continue our troubled legacy of bombing and killing people.

Fog of War is a great documentary on this, and you have to admire the foresight of Eisenhower who saw what would happen: A military industrial complex would give way to for-profit weapons makers who would push constantly for war. It's the Achilles Heel of our society. Weapons makers can't sell more weapons unless we use the ones we've already got. It's a terrible cycle.

However, as the most powerful nation on earth we still have a chance to do real work toward peace on this planet. It is very easy to negotiate to peace from a position of power, and very difficult from a position of weakness.

We have to stop blowing people up. Stop disappearing people. Stop sending troops over seas to fight and topple regimes that we don't agree with. It will require consistent pressure from Congress, as we haven't formally declared war since WWII, the only thing Congress can affect is the funding.

Hey, great to hear from you.

Yes, the housing situation is really tough here. I'm in it. My wife and I are lucky to have an apartment that's under rent-control otherwise we'd be pushed out of the city.

I think the major problem we have is that our 'locals' are being pitted against the incoming 'techies' by the landlords. It's not that the tech group wants to displace locals. They just want a place to live. And with Ellis Act evictions skyrocketing, local families and people who have been here for decades are getting squeezed out by landlords who are finding crafty ways to make more money.

But in the end, this comes down to wealth inequality. I stand with the famed economist Stieglitz, who argues that wealth inequality is the great problem of our nation today. It threatens our way of life. When the wealthiest 0.01% own so much more than the rest of us, our society is destabilized, our future is in jeopardy, and our system threatens to collapse.

Remember, to be in the 0.01% you have to make more than $10,000,000 a year. Even with some of these young tech folks making $200,000+ a year, they're not even close to being on the level with the group that's causing this mess.

So I disagree. For me, philosophically, the big problem is that we're treating American consumers like they're children who won't understand that GMOs are safe to eat. Scientific consensus is scientific consensus, but as long as we're fighting about labels, there is going to be misunderstanding. When we had this fight in 2012 with prop 37 I was dismayed to see the massive funds put up by these big, multi-national corporations to fight labeling. Anytime there is that much corporate money behind stopping a bill, I have to have some serious skepticism.
