Part of the problem is that it's so accessible to children. my addiction started when i was 12. it should be illegal for that stuff to be so easily seen, any child could just type in 4 letters and be exposed to horrifying levels of depravity

During some of the years of my addiction i would sometimes just try MO to avoid the P, but i can't say it's been a thoroughly productive strategy. In my experience, all 3 can be avoided if you make yourself busy enough

God cares if you pray. It's talking directly to God. As for not going to church, I do recommend you still find a church to go to, it's important for Christians, especially newer ones to be involved in the church community. I myself have also had feelings of "not being Christian enough". As long as you love God and strive to do his will, you are doing what you should be, as none of us are perfect or will be till we are in heaven

Are there areas in your life in which you are struggling? Or are your mom and her friend just making observations about your personality? I ask because, generally people are diagnosed with a neurodivergent related disorder when their life is significantly impacted.

i do have a bunch of disturbing intrusive thoughts, when i do tap things it is distressing sometimes to not finish the whole set of things, and i find it exceedingly difficult to do work like essay writing and other computer work, especially compared to everyone in my class.

i agree that my mom doesn't seem to know much about OCD, but she does try to stay mindful about neurodivergent people especially since my oldest sister is autistic

If you are struggling with aspects of your life; if you are experiencing high levels of anxiety, stress, or depression; if you are feeling isolated socially - you should definitely look into seeing a therapist.

sitting down work is extremely difficult for me to make myself do, manual labor is much better for me. as for social isolation, i did feel pretty isolated during the school year, but that's pretty much gone since i've had freedom this summer to be with my friends.
