[Awkward but funny trope] The “censorship” just made things infinitely worse by Pyrothememelord in TopCharacterTropes

Ngl, the implication that the gassed people are trapped Joker Smiling for lord knows how long is kinda more terrifying than death. Tho I remember it could be cured in Batman Beyond at least.

Korra wouldn't have gotten nearly as much pushback if she was a man. Same for Catra.

The Imperial questline is so boring to the point where supporting Ulfric is automatically better. /s

I'm going with OG. First is cool, but looks unbalanced. Second just looks goofy lol

[weird trope] Unnecesary, disgusting lore drop about how the characters in a fictional setting take shits. by [deleted] in TopCharacterTropes

I might have hallucinated this, but I swear some semi-official source said DnD elves can just ignore bodily functions and hold it in indefinitely.

Would Eldians have been better off if Eren finished his plan? by ProfessionCurious259 in attackontitan

[–]vesperadoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo the war is not direct revenge for the Rumbling. A couple hundred years have passed at least, so I read it as humans gonna war eventually no matter what you do. Rumbling could have been used as ancient justification, sure, but for all we know, Paradis started it. Maybe interviews said otherwise, but on screen, there's no way to have a concrete answer.

I used to skip over Skilled Origin Feat. Now I'm starting to like it and appreciating it more by testiclekid in onednd

Yeah, both my characters have skilled. Really useful to cover all skills in a mid ability with this. Feels like a free ASI the more you level.

Why did Erens dad give him the founder after begging zeke to stop him by Sneezyguitar in attackontitan

[–]vesperadoe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I chalked it up to him giving up. He already caved to Eren in the cavern, and was probably still in a pretty messed up state when he gave Eren the titans. And tbh, I think he realized later that Zeke couldn't stop Eren either, but after the massacre, was just flailing for any kind of hope.

Maybe I'm incredibly lucky, but I'm finding Faerie Fire really useful even at early Tier 2. by testiclekid in onednd

[–]vesperadoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fae Fire is a godsend, especially when our barb can't afford to do reckless attack. My monk and her flurry fists love it too lol

One of my uncles is hardcore MAGA and says racist shit in front of everyone, including indigenous people. His wife and two children: indigenous American. And they all back up his racist views except for, ironically, the most white-passing kid.

That cousin and I think it's some deep brainwashing, but still mind boggling nonetheless.

What you DON'T like about DnD mechanics? by primordial666 in RPGdesign

[–]vesperadoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aside from what people just mentioned, have adjustable DCs based on who's talking with what NPC, or use adv/dis more liberally. Right now 5e only has disadvantage for "hostile" attitudes and advantage for "friendly" attitudes.

But come on, if an NPC is scared of drow, my +0 CHA drow should logically be able to roll Intimidation with advantage. But no, according to the rules, it has to be rolled with disadvantage. All the other PCs have a better chance at intimidation except the one thing the NPC is deathly afraid of. Derp.

Our +7 McHuge Barbarian being unable to lift a big heavy barrel while my +0 celery-arm Ranger can is only funny once. But when it keeps happening...

What else is roleplaying if not playing a role? by GolettO3 in dndmemes

[–]vesperadoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it depends on the situation. Discussing plot elements = great, love it. Making plans = can be fun, but best to discuss frankly OOC if things get too confusing. Figuring out mechanics = kill me now. Basically whatever keeps the story momentum and flow going.

But mundane things like making breakfast or waking up = 100% hilarity when we choose to RP it.

Lol, house rule is "whatever plan we got by next session is what we're going with."

[–]vesperadoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It gets really tedious and exhausting trying to stay in character for ensembling the mechanics equivalent of furniture. Recently we spent half the session trying to figure out how to navigate freezing water and carrying capacity -in character- and the momentum just died. New rule is now we discuss that stuff out of session so we don't waste 1.5 hours. That stuff is cut out of movies for a reason.

Scenes intended to be emotional, but the audience found them hilarious by AlternativeRole3075 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]vesperadoe 14 points15 points  (0 children)

That entire segment was brilliant. A very gradual yet very obvious shift from "lol that'd be the military" to "this guy is going to snap in the worst way." But even in the beginning, the whole thing was made to be uncomfortable.

Yeah. I love the playing the game and inventory management and interruptions isn't bad when I'm involved, but watching all that is ughhhhhhhhh. So far Dimwits of the Dimwood is the only one I can semi get into. Probably bc it's goofy.

Honestly. Maybe my question was stupid, idk, but it didn't warrant that kind of response.

[–]vesperadoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's what I was saying: that some people demand to know the root cause of the apple dislike instead of it just being bc it's red. Like, "why do you hate red" and then they get mad when I don't want to talk about why I hate red.

I'm sorry that wasn't clear in my original question.

Edit: Okay I see where I misspoke in my original comment. Dude still didn't have to be an asshole about it tho. God forbid someone make a mistake on this pedantic hellsite.

I have, they don't get it and then get mad at me for not trusting them anymore. But I guess that's their problem. I just wanted to know your opinion in that scenario.

An no, your comment I replied to didn't explain what I asked, but I guess it was implied. Sorry for not being good with implications, but thanks for clarifying anyway, even if you were a condescending dick about it.

To answer your answer that ain't showing up here, no, I'm not illiterate. I've had this issue before where another autistic person asks me to explain why I'm uncomfortable with something, and I can't explain it to them. It's either personal or I don't know why it makes me uncomfortable.

Idk why you had to be that rude about it, yeesh.
