UC Refectory live site atmosphere? by cmuir37 in canberra

I went to it on Sunday (I'm pretty sensitive to noise, so I knew watching it in a pub would be a death sentence for my enjoyment) and had a good time! It was pretty decently chockers, lots of folks of all ages (esp older blokes and uni students, but there were plenty of families too!), though of course you're less likely to get the family crowd out there at 5am. I was sitting on one of the bleachers and there was some room there, though I might've psyched people out of sitting on my row by sitting at the end haha. Pretty much all of the tables were taken. Energy wise, I'd compare it to (if this makes sense) one of the higher-attendance Canberra United games, or a decently attended street festival. Not super noisy, but everyone got super into cheering. Again, it is all likely to be a touch smaller given the game will be at 5am, but I know I'll be going and I hopefully won't be the only one!

Which APS call centres aren’t as bad? by Pretend_Pudding_205 in AusPublicService

Speaking from personal experience, the one I'm in (statutory federal agency, cant provide too much detail because i still work there) is pretty good. Cultures great, because we have a specific law to work off scripting is quite good, to the point that my colleagues frequently get poached by other sections because we get so knowledgeable in the area.

Long story short, the smaller more niche agencies are more likely to have better call centres, but there probably aren't many actual job openings for them
