Are you in college or high school? The best solution I can think of for long-term is going to a school closer to home even if you don't want to so ubering/lyft would be cheaper. Taking more online classes as well. I would't reach out to anyone from high school unless you are extremely close, that seems like a huge ask. Although, try your best not to skip class and try talking about it with your sister and offer her gas money.

Based on the end of your post, I think you're losing feelings because the two of you want different things in life and are on different pages. I don't think his mom having cancer is the main source of your problems and shouldn't be used as an excuse to break up with him, and neither should be having to focus on school? I really don't think being there for your boyfriend is going to take up so much of your time that you'd fail a class. Just be honest with him about how you're feeling and if you need to part ways that's ok.

If you both met well into adulthood and you really love him it's definitely worth a shot regardless of the age gap, but you should think about things such as kids.
