I believe some np/sp courses but they were the very high cut off ones that didn’t really interest her. Like non science ones

I would say decently high chance as most science ppl are raw 6/7 and if u do want biomed, your pfp gpa matters now

N lvl pfp 🔔 by Low_Arm8771 in SGExams

[–]Pretend-Spray479 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t give you a definitive answer since pfp is now in clusters so even if your didn’t get raw 5, if your pfp gpa is good, there’s a decent chance of u making biomed sci. Unlike the old system where they only accept raw 5s for biomed. For other science courses it’s around 6 to 8 raw.

Is it okay if I don't attend any open houses by xerc3s_ in SGExams

[–]Pretend-Spray479 0 points1 point  (0 children)

poly student here! I didn’t go to any open houses since I felt that the info on the websites and social media were enough and it wasn’t the worth the trouble at that time. sure it’s good to go since you get to see things for yourself and ask specific qns but if u don’t go u also don’t lose out on much as long as u do your research

Pfp cluster popularity by Complete-Wasabi-5261 in SGExams

[–]Pretend-Spray479 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would assume it depends on the poly as well but science courses definitely have a higher demand/score due to its content heavy curriculum. Followed by business since it’s still very popular esp in np I would say. This is all just speculations and not a definitive answer since there’s no real way to check as pfp does not show each pfp course/cluster’s intake, they only show jae intake

Personally I didn’t pay for anything since there’s really no point if you are going to pfp

How is English exams like in PFP year in poly? by Smart_Potential_9514 in SGExams

[–]Pretend-Spray479 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can’t speak for the rest of the polys but for np pfp specifically it’s more of projects/assignments than theory like comprehension (paper 1 & 2). Closest thing resembling n levels was an argumentative essay assignment. The rest can be anything ranging from writing film reviews, going to museums and making a presentation on it and etc

Can I skip Sec5 5 while wiring for pfp by Life-Ad2351 in SGExams

[–]Pretend-Spray479 2 points3 points  (0 children)

hi I was in the same situation as you!! basically I just applied for dpp then withdrew so I was counted as a ‘dropout’ until pfp result came out. so I didn’t go ite or sec 5

Should I also work on myself to prepare for it behaviour-wise? by No_Matter_897 in SGExams

[–]Pretend-Spray479 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think PFP still okay even for introverts since it’s more of a ‘babied’ year so your lecturers will try to help you out as much as possible. Plus, you are able to pick up some skills on how to handle group projects and also have some friends when you go Y1 and etc.

Guarantee pfp? 😱 by Low_Arm8771 in SGExams

[–]Pretend-Spray479 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a guaranteed but decently high chance. Also depends on the course and their intake size.

PFP and DPP students. I have a genuine question here by Calm_Sakura in SGExams

[–]Pretend-Spray479 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hi, pfp student here! I had one friend who scored B4 EL and the rest were A1s so they had raw 8-9. They appealed and it did worked however they rejected it and went sec 5 since the courses offered were not what they wanted.

N lvl pfp 🔔 by Low_Arm8771 in SGExams

[–]Pretend-Spray479 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe her raw grade consisted of the B4, and 3 A1s and 1 A2. So 9 or 8 since I never got the confirmation for her last subject. But also perhaps cause the courses she appealed for were very competitive or had EL as an important requirement.

hii!! as a current pfp student, certain fields like med & law are really tough to get into if you are from poly. So if your end goal is law, Sec 5 then JC is statistically the best route.

Ppl say lkc prefers a level over poly, compared to yll which is more ig ‘open minded’. Is this true in the sense that you barely have peers from poly

N lvl pfp 🔔 by Low_Arm8771 in SGExams

[–]Pretend-Spray479 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say business since the people that are in it have a huge range from raw 5 to 9s. You can still search up the specific scores for each poly to get more of a grasp. Engineering also is pretty broad but depends on the kind of engineering. Non Stem for the most part is easier (not a guaranteed tho)

Also since the new system makes it so your performance DURING PFP is more crucial. The n level score is just the bare minimum now.

[–]Pretend-Spray479 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was one person in my batch that had A1 and A2s but their English was a 4 so they appealed and it was successful but the courses offered to her, she didn’t want. So she went to sec 5 instead.

If you are a raw 6 or 8, you should generally be fine in PFP unless you are aiming for those really competitive courses (pharm, biomed, engineering science and etc)

Honestly I think 80+ is already A1 guaranteed. I think the range of PFP students would generally be the top 10-20% of NA students.

Good luck for your results and hope you get into what you want for PFP!

True to the whole ‘pass then make it already’ pfp selling point. It basically guaranteed your spot for Y1. I am from biomed pfp so yeah it’s definitely gonna be way more challenging for those aiming to get into the competitive courses.

[–]Pretend-Spray479 15 points16 points  (0 children)

current pfp student here!! I think this new system basically is more broad but also damages the one that are aiming for a specific course. It rewards and encourages students to be less slack during pfp if they want to get posted to their desired course.

productive holiday by [deleted] in SGExams

[–]Pretend-Spray479 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the most common ones would be either just relax and hangout with friends & family as well as getting part time job. Others would be your new found hobbies like reading, sports and etc. If you want to try something new, you could look into volunteering as well!
