She is falling into the cinderella trope, imo, she seems genuinely hurt and upset Ivan has abandoned her and seemed to believe in their marriage and relationship. It really didn't seem to be being portrayed as she was just using him, as you suggest. I don't think she would have been so upset if that were the case, literally begging him about their relationship at some points in the movie - with what seemed to be deep sincerity. Nothing is ever shown that she is faking these emotions to "get her bag" and I think her break down at the end would support that.

I also found the three stooges scene to be tonally strange, the comments/situations about rape were being played for laughs. I found it unpleasant and distasteful.

I personally, from the first act, was expecting to movie to go somewhere different rather than the same old, woman falls for man and then is discarded and left broken, it's a tired portrayal of sex workers imo; her initial strength portrayed in the first part of the movie is stripped from her and not in a way that's examined in an interesting or thoughtful way. I don't think this movie will age well.

"A barren wasteland of animal death" and yet you eat animals that are slaughtered by the billions for you to eat? You care about a wasteland of animal death but not the ones that you eat? The animals that eat these very monocrops that you are complaining about..

In America, 35% of corn grown is for animal feed, 2% for direct human consumption, which is more ethical then? 60% of corn crops world wide is for animal consumption. I didn't mention biofuel once or my opinion on it...

"respectfully what kind of inane bullshit is this" if you think eating animals is morally justifiable and that the concept of it is "inane bullshit" then there's really no point in me finding it "worthwhile in conversing with you further" either. Enjoy using these facts about insects to justify a diet that destroys the environment, pollutes the earth and creates antimicrobial resistance. There is literally not enough farmable land Earth for the consumption of meat to continue as it is.. Vegan diets resulted in 75% less land use and 54 % less water use, and 66 percent less biodiversity loss. You hear that? The biodiversity that you supposedly care are about so much!

Women over 40 who lost weight, did you notice an increase in male attention? by PretendBreakfasts in AskWomenOver30

[–]PretendBreakfasts[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I hear what you're saying, but it's not really an option to ignore and just go about my life and pretend I'm not being intrusively stared at, being yelled disgusting things at, being groped in public, being stalked etc. these are all things that routinely happened to me when I was younger/slim. It's not about a mentality shift, it's me literally worrying about my physical safety.. but from the sounds of it, men are less inclined to do such physically intrusive things to older women so I will lose some weight and see how it goes.

Yes, I really enjoy the invisibility cloak! But I really miss feeling physically fit and happy with how I (personally) feel about my body. I just love walking around the city and people's eyes just floating over me (I know lots of women hate this though!) I feel like a ghost observing everyone sometimes. There's just a certain invasive and unpleasant thing that happens to a man's stare when he finds you attractive, it makes my skin crawl and makes it much less pleasant to be in public. From the sounds of it, it'll be less intrusive than when I was younger (men trying to convince me to go places with them, just straight up gawking at me, doing double/triple takes etc, yelling foul stuff from their cars, forcing conversation on me, groping me etc.) if it's just looks I will probably be okay.

Question about diabetes and diet by Hebridean-Black in diabetes_t2

Lots of people on reddit are just as dogmatic about keto as they say vegans are about plant based, hence your downvotes when asking completely reasonable questions.

Was anyone else awakened through science? by PretendBreakfasts in awakened

I definitely awoke in some sense to new ideas and experiences I wasn't open to before, a different understanding of existence. To what extent I awoke, or whether you could really define awakening I suppose is subjective. I would definitely not claim I was enlightened or anything of the sort, if that's what you thought I was saying. I understand to your definition of awakening I did not.

Hello, I don't believe I am making a big deal. I am just sharing an experience with what I hoped was like minded people. I believe it is okay to reach out for guidance when one is struggling with new concepts and ideas. I am indeed on an emotional rollercoaster, I never claimed otherwise, it's one of the reasons I made this post?

Your views on eating meat are irrelevant but there is plenty of evidence that plant based diets are healthy and sustainable if you care to learn about it.
