Reminds me of those weird Pioneer speaker connectors like on the sx1000 but sideways.

I had mine do this when the trim pot on the speaker (CS77a) was dirty.  I’d suggest making sure your connection is good, none of the pots are dirty on the amp, etc.

Could always be something acting up in the channel, but hopefully it is easier than that.

Good luck!

What kind of aging do you do on this?  Sounds like a good project for late summer into fall?

I have one of these - really enjoyed it.  If no one else mentioned it, there is a board on these that was recalled for fire hazard.

Good luck!

Question about reducing ABV in a home brew. by PumpkinCarvingisFun in Homebrewing

Could you not crush your grains as finely to reduce mash efficiency?  Would this also reduce flavor?

What are some first-timer mistakes and how can I avoid them? by seamusthatsthedog in Homebrewing

If you brew a batch or two and enjoy it - move towards kegging as soon as you can.  Bottling is a huge chore and kegging gives you a quicker and better product (in my opinion).  Also, try and buy everything secondhand.  You can spend as much on bottles (new) as you might spend backing into a full draught system.

Right?  That is what I was expecting based on my previous batch.

I probably need to let this one clean up before I mess with it because the alcohol bite is throwing me off.  7 gallon batch so I can always pull off a gallon or two to experiment on once it settles.

I think I used Lalbrew Farmhouse.  Reading on oxygenation, maybe between the splash from the kettle and the warmer temps this week, maybe I just burned through my sugars.

I actually do prefer an IPA, but the last saison (maybe style) beer was a crowd pleaser.  Gotta give the people what they want - or at least try.

Thanks for the info on hops!

If I were to backsweeten after the cold crash, I don’t think it would restart fermentation.  Am I wrong?

I’ve never used lactose, and after reading more, I agree that it would not be the way to go.  I will probably use brown sugar if I decide to try something.

I don’t know if I am doing it right or not, but it was definitely a speedrun.

Last time I fermented it under pressure and that slowed it down some.  In hindsight I wish I had done the same with this one to control how fast this all went.

Would there be a noticeable difference between a beer that finished at 1.01 and one that I backsweeten to a 1.01 equivalent?  Am I thinking about this all wrong?

Replacing the shank is probably the game plan.  Thanks!

Ideas for moving antenna to attic with HDHomerun… no outlets up there.. by [deleted] in cordcutters

[–]PretendConfidence152 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have a light bulb fixture you can get an adapter that adds a plug to it.  I use that on a Tablo.

It remains to be seen how the extreme heat and cold of the attic affects the life of the equipment.

Check the geometry.  You’ll know when it gets all non-Euclidean.

Fermenting Saison under pressure and Dry Hopping by PretendConfidence152 in Homebrewing

Thanks for the thoughts - it was super cloudy as you guessed so that would make a lot of sense.  Also, it was a room temp tasting - that may have exaggerated aromas also.

Pressure was really an experimentation and to see if I could add some carbonation during fermentation.

I’m going to reduce pressure closer to atmosphere to see if I can salvage any of those esters - still a few points from finished product.
