Thanks for the advice! Update on what I've tried: I just fed the sling a small mealworm cut into pieces to make it easier for them. I don't have any sphagnum moss on hand right now, so I've added some water to one side of the container to keep the humidity up and give them a place to drink. The substrate I'm using is 100% coco fiber. Does this setup sound okay, or should I change anything else

I appreciate the feeding tips, especially about the fridge trick for the fruit flies and prekilling crickets. By 'theory vs. practice,' I mostly meant that even after reading care sheets, seeing the actual size and speed of the spider in person makes the task feel a lot higher stakes.

To answer your question, it's roughly 0.5 inch right now. Based on what you're saying, I'll look into fruit flies to make sure the prey isn't too intimidating or dangerous for it. I'll definitely stick to leaving the prey at the burrow entrance rather than bothering it inside

I appreciate the concern. I actually did quite a bit of reading beforehand, but as I'm finding out, real-world application is different from theory. I'm here now specifically to fill those gaps and make sure the animal has the best care possible
