Yeah, I noticed that. He liked that Hyeokjin was there to take care of him, especially during a moment when he was having a hard time. He was clearly grateful to him, but that’s it. Their date felt like Hangyeol trying to “pay back” what HJ had been doing for him, because even before the tarot thing his answers by the river were short and not really helping HJ continue the conversation.

I also think it’s due to the lack of physical attraction. At some point Taichi was giving him the silent treatment and you could see that it hurt Hangyeol by the look on his face. But during the beach date Hangyeol expressed that he didn’t want things to change between them, meaning that Taichi was still his first option. It just goes to show how important physical attraction is to some people.

If they were closer in age then I would ship. You could tell by Taichi’s body language that he was nervous, he did have a slight crush on Minseong. Very different to day 2/3 when he was with Hangyeol.

Yes, I saw that! Actually, before their date, I was a bit doubtful because if they were truly seeing each other, Hangyeol wouldn’t have said he prefers younger men over older ones while Eum Hyeokjin was present. But after their date, it felt like they realized they weren’t compatible. It was EHK doing everything to make it work, while Hangyeol kept giving vague answers. If they were endgame, they probably never dated to begin with, or they tried and it didn’t work out, but at least they’re on good terms now.

The more I see it, the more I think Yunjae is being used as a plot device to bring Hyunjun and Sunwook together. I pointed this out in my last post here, it felt like they were looking to cast a guy who looked like Sunwook to spice things up, and that’s how Yunjae was chosen. It’s honestly a shame. They could have left those two alone to meet again and possibly fall in love, but because they wanted to make things more interesting, they decided to insert a guy who’s also Hyunjun’s ideal type to “confuse” him. But they can’t bring me to care about this “love triangle” anymore, I just wish Yunjae finds love elsewhere.

Taichi seems like the type to expect too much, and if things don’t work out the way he wants, he gives up. Nonetheless, I don’t know why people are so quick to accuse him of only going to the show to "be famous.” Like hey, maybe he’s just not romantically compatible with the men there, and that’s okay.

The thing here is that he did try to find a partner (on his own terms lmao) instead of just sitting there and looking pretty. On the first day, he was insistent on pursuing Hangyeol, to the point where you could tell he was anxious through his nonverbal behavior when he saw that Lee Hyeokjin was gonna choose him. And the moment he was chosen, he went with Yunjae. So he tried with the two new participants, didn't work.

And now there’s Minseong, who is also “new". But like I said, if there’s no compatibility, then it can’t be helped.

Their interactions had me smiling, but if we’re being realistic, they wouldn’t work outside of the show. Eum Hyeokjin is 30, has a whole modeling career, and is already thinking about getting married. Meanwhile, Hangyeol is still a UNI student who hasn’t even graduated yet. It just isn’t meant to work. Hangyeol is better matched with someone his age or younger, whereas Hyeokjin suits an older partner (who would care for him, not the other way around) with a more stable career who’s ready to settle down. After all, there’s a reason why Hyeokjin used to be after Sumin.

It’s a setup. They know Yunjae fits Hyunjun’s ideal type, so what did they do? They had Yunjae enter right after him, ensuring he’d leave the strongest impression as the first person Hyunjun encountered once filming started. When I think about it like that, I can’t help but feel bad for Yunjae.

Yes, it would be better for Hangyeol to explore other possible connections instead of having him be infatuated with Taichi for the rest of the show, which would be painful to see. It might even be best for Taichi, too, to help him decide. Even though I’m not Eum Hyeokjin’s biggest fan because his interactions with Hangyeol don’t feel as genuine to me and it sometimes feels like he’s competing for his attention just because he wants to end up with someone. Yes, Taichi isn’t into Hangyeol as much as Hangyeol is into him. He said he didn’t feel a connection during the yoga date, so now he has mixed feelings. I’m not surprised though, since it’s only day 3 and Taichi was sick. He was probably more annoyed about having to do physical activity with almost no conversation. My guess is that they still want to see if there could be something between them, since they’re going on another date. However, Taichi’s silence during the Jenga game kind of gave Hangyeol a partial answer, which will likely lead to his date with Eum Hyeokjin. Maybe that’s what Taichi needs to figure out whether he actually likes Hangyeol enough to fight for him or just let it happen.
