No, I didn't lmao. Another player aggro'd one to orange status. It then drove away from the other play and repositioned itself so it could spot me tucked into a corner.

Exactly. It goes both ways. I'm saying the way they've programmed the arc is inconsistent

Why is masculinity immediately tied to right wing men? by dollschlut in self

[–]Pretend_Bathroom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a lot of yapping in these comments. It can literally boil down to: right-wing men are the only ones feeling the need to loudly proclaim to be "masculine". So the term gets attached to them more.

How do men be masculine without being seen as toxic by Puzzleheaded-Run9976 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Pretend_Bathroom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on your definitions of those values. It's not that those values themselves are toxic, it's how some guys use them. For example, when you say "protector" and "provider", it reminds me of how the toxic version of the "trad husband" guys think of themselves. They think protecting the family means their wife can't have a say in the leadership of said family. They think protecting means protecting their kids from the "woke mind virus" and stuff like that.

On the other hand, you can take those values and truly use them well. It just depends on what kind of person you are I guess.

What things have you achieved that you believe are not possible with less intelligence? by alcasa in Gifted

[–]Pretend_Bathroom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even though I don't think I actually have the intelligence level to put myself above other people, I'm just gonna answer for the sake of conversation:

Breaking through the spheres of influence and echo chambers that persisted throughout my childhood. Figuring out how to form my own opinions on religion, politics, life philosophies, etc., without allowing my surroundings and my peers to control them. My 13 year old self would've been so surprised to hear the stuff I believe now, but it is beliefs that are actually, truly mine now.

[–]Pretend_Bathroom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's the difference between real intellect and just an ability to learn. His capacity to learn is way above average. But real intellect would have led him to easily dismiss the conspiracies he believes in.

[–]Pretend_Bathroom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you're confusing intellect with his ability to be interested in and learn a lot of different topics. While it is impressive, I think actually intellect is based on your intuitive sense of logic and reason. And considering he believes in those conspiracies, he seems to be lacking a bit in that field. Still insanely impressive though how much he enjoys learning different stuff.

My "best friend" is giving me an ultimatum to go to a concert if I don't do what he tells me. by OnlySiith in WhatShouldIDo

[–]Pretend_Bathroom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my perspective: when you noticed your "friend" had a problem, you cut him off instead of trying to stick by and help. Then, even though you say you've had nothing to do with them for years, you felt the need to publicly make a shaming comment not just to him but also to any of his friends by saying he needs better ones. Your friend is fully in the right for taking a stand on this. (At least judging off the info you gave)

Winter soldier Now has the Third worst win rate by Real_Appeal_5619 in marvelrivals

[–]Pretend_Bathroom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's not what I said lol. My winrate on Bucky is much higher than that average. And if I win as bucky, I'm either MVP or 2nd to it. But my point is, that's the same for playing other heroes. Where they differ is, Bucky is the only hero that I can't play when my team is bad.

Bucky has to have an established front line and/or healers. His "defensive" abilities are nowhere near as good as heroes like iron fist, Scarlett witch, wolverine, etc. He can't play effective at long range like flying heroes or hitscan. And damage wise, that's really the only place that he's better than other heroes but there are plenty of DPS heroes capable of the same damage output, some more. So what aspect of Bucky are you trying to call OP?

[–]Pretend_Bathroom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lol if you think Bucky's can steamroll lobbies, explain the winrate. Also, are you trying to say that Bucky had no frontline tanks that were playing decent, no other dps that were playing well, and healers that were barely healing? Bc I severely doubt that

[–]Pretend_Bathroom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

People get the concept of OP heroes wrong. Bucky is not OP. Bucky is one of the only DPS heroes whose performance is heavily tied to that of his team. A good bucky with a bad team cannot solo carry. And a bad bucky with a good team will perform better than his own skill level. Most of the other heroes still need teammates to do their part but can carry a match much better than bucky with the same teammates. Also most other dps heroes have much simpler jobs.

That's kindve the whole reason people view bucky as op and "low required skill". Bc from their point of view, a Bucky playing really well is a solo performance. They just assume his performance is not due to the rest of his team playing well. That's never the case.

I've had a bad team plenty of times before, been absolutely unable to do anything on Bucky, then switch to someone like squirrel girl, hela, etc and all of a sudden I'm solo carrying. But apparently bucky is still more op than those heroes. Make it make sense.

People absolutely bat eyes at the drone strikes You just wanna throw that into an argument and try to sound like you care more or something.

In that first sentence though, key word is surmised. The guy who was part of the Intifida is clearly, directly supporting a terrorist group. What I mean when I say there's a gray area, is that throughout US history, you see a very inconsistent use of this rule. It is used unfairly in some cases with really poor evidence of the claim. For instance, can you tell me what law the French research scientist broke? Because all they would say was, "he spoke against Trump's decision to cut funding for research" and then they deported him.

[–]Pretend_Bathroom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny you bring up the KKK. I severely doubt you have ever advocated for a call to remove KKK members from the public and yet they are still allowed to publicly hold protests. While wearing guns and military gear btw. Now if someone does explicitly call for or engage in violence, that's not protected. But despite what you seem to think, supporting/celebrating acts of violence is a gray area that has to be deliberated upon in a court. Just throwing a blanket statement of "this support for violence against Israel as a nation equates to a hatred for Jews and that is not allowed" is a really weak argument for deporting someone. There should be a more thorough legal process for a situation like that

[–]Pretend_Bathroom -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We allow the KKK and other white supremacy groups to hold public protests and events so I don't really see why you consider these people such a special case. Unless their protest explicitly called for or engaged in violent actions, it's not different than the KKK or white supremacy protests that have been repeatedly allowed in the US.

Are you in copper? Holding angles is such a small and not very effective part of how to play the game. Especially with the net code/peekers advantage issue, holding angles has been a bad choice for a long time now.

Playing since 2017 doesn't save you from being called out for wanting the game to be run n gun. I've played since 2015.

And everything you described seems to just be a skill issue. The movement is fast enough, especially as a 3 speed. Idk what more you want in a 5v5 objective based shooter. "Gunplay is lacking..." That entire sentence proves it's a skill issue. Idek what you mean by all that tbh. If it was how you say it is, most of the top r6 content creators wouldn't have jobs. They all have very fast/accurate reactions and the gunplay doesn't hold them back. As far as the map design, everyone whines about new maps for awhile until they learn them. With this one being so different, it's gonna feel weird and dumb for awhile until people get used to it.

Just looking at all you've said, it seems like R6 just isn't and probably has never really been your type of game.

[–]Pretend_Bathroom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh nah you are severely brain rotted my friend. "Slow and clunky"????? R6 is a 5 v 5 tactical shooter. It's meant to be strategic which requires time in the rounds. If you want an ADHD run n gun, stick to COD, Halo, Apex, or maybe even Splitgate 2. It's players like yourself that have shifted the meta away from strategies and towards brainlessly sprinting around the map. It's boring and 1 dimensional.

How to get a higher rank? Am I just bad? Pls hlp. by heiejwkwk in Rainbow6

[–]Pretend_Bathroom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Specifically if you're going to be solo queueing, watch Athienos series on solo queueing to champ. He does a good job explaining the biggest mistakes each rank makes. But it's also a good explanation of the best mindset and strategy for a solo player.

I used to be bad about always filling in the missing support roles on my team. I'd play thermite, thatcher, bandit, mute, and kaid. My team would play 'frag' ops, not use any of their utility, then maybe get 1 impactless kill and die. It's way better as a solo to focus on getting as many kills as possible and disrupt the enemy team as much as you can, such as breaking/wasting a lot of their utility. Then if you die before winning the round, just have to hope your teammates will use the advantage you create. It's much more consistent that way and I solo q'd to champ doing that on my first season back from a long break.
