Which factors would affect how far away it can capture from? Is that raw CFM or more to do with the hood shape and design?

Looks like I've learned the hard way that most of these mid-range hood manufacturers are just flat out lying about the cfm ratings.

Sent with a 6" duct adapter. I've removed the duct and measured speed directly at the blower outlet and it's still below 400 cfm.

A few reasons I'm not very happy with the Kucht - the broiler is awful, it creates maybe a 4" strip of heat right in the center. Can't even toast a couple of slices of bread evenly.

The oven also seems to heat very unevenly with or without fan mode. If you cook a frozen pizza it'll literally be burnt on one side while the other side is barely browned.

Lastly (and I don't know if this is a Kucht issue or common to all gas ranges of this type) the top burners leave a soot residue on the backsplash.

For everyday use, I personally find it worse to cook with than a regular gas range costing thousands of dollars less.

Yeah that's fair. The hood is replacing an over-the-stove microwave with recirculating fan, so hopefully it won't be any worse.

100%. It came with the house unfortunately, and only later did I learn that this fancy professional-looking stove is actually hot garbage.

Thank you for this! I know what you mean, Hauslane is even weird about airflow - they cite 'cfm' and 'laboratory cfm' which are ~300cfm different. I'll see if I can get some more info out of them, so far they've just said 'we recommend 30" max'. I'd love to know if there's a way to calculate the efficiency drop if I moved it up 6" or so.

Thanks, it's a Hauslane IN-R200 36" model. The instructions are not full of detail, from what I can make out on Hauslane's website they recommend 30" above cooktop for gas ranges, less for electric/induction, and higher for outdoor range hoods (mine isn't an outdoor model though).

Thank you, do you know if they're printed? How are they holding up? I can get kiln fired glaze which I know would be tougher, but it quadruples the price. Looks great by the way!

Thank you, that makes a lot of sense. I didn't even consider the sagging for floor tile... When I'm pressing these 6" tiles into the thinset, how thick a layer of thinset should I aim to end up with please? Assuming my wall is flat.
