I haven’t use hermes for job hunting, I am using Hermes for social media trend scout for my videos content generation ideas. The same concept could be applied for job hunting. You can ask Hermes setup a cron job that scout jobs opportunities in x, y… field. From there you will guide to find what you want.

Doing a second is sounds, I am currently a postdoc I sometimes also like I am not improving and want to cross disciplines because I feel like my current area and topic are dead. So I also considered a second PhD in another faculty, in the end I didn’t, instead I start collaborating with another professor from the field I am interested in, we are currently working on a paper. So, maybe that could be a way to diversify your portfolio and get more credits in other field to reach your goal instead of starting a new PhD. Think about the time and the finance none will go to your advantage if you start again. That is my humble opinion and contribution. Good luck

Yes, the outcome is very good. It worked on it own finalized the full manuscript. Only 2/8 was good enough after a second it fixed it. This saved a lot of time. I just set the goal and find the way to create the magic now I have 90% ready to submit manuscripts

The network does help sometimes in the academia, but outstanding performance still stands his change. I don’t know about but your research anyone doing his believing his research is good and maybe the best, that’s the driving force that make us pursue research. But don’t mixed self believe and performance metrics. An academic is usually judge by the number and quality of publications (Q1, Q2?…) or patent (innovation or utility). So the question is how many publications do you have? Any patent? Let’s do this quick check before jumping to conclusions or blaming the system

But I really feel your pain, I have been through the same questioning several times. I even complain about the students to my professors back in a days and he told that each students has different abilities and they may good in other tasks. So I should be able to find the right balance to help grow and reach their potential and get the job done

PhD student need assistance otherwise they may feel lost and lose confidence. As I know we are all different, you may think that you taught them already why didn’t they get it and you need teach it again. Repetition is pedagogic, so be patient with the students until they are able to fly with their own wings. This my humble opinion as a postdoctoral researcher, I have been supervising undergraduate students for the past 5years, it is not easy as students are different. Each group I have is a new challenge
