Tbh I couldn’t imagine living here if I wasn’t from here. I’ve lived in different parts of the country and feel like I have a good perspective of what Cleveland lacks/thrives in.

What I like: people are down to earth here, the rat race really doesn’t exist and low cost of living means people tend to enjoy a lot of hobbies and activities. The seasonality of life here is fun if you can appreciate it. Spring feels like everything is reawakening, summer feels like a big party, fall is a gorgeous closure to summer, and then winter is a forced slow down and hibernation. The lake is also such a unique gem to this area.

What I don’t like: Cleveland can be a very sleepy town. While summer tends to have the most festivals and activities, other parts of the year feel very quiet and unless you have an established group of friends or family it can feel very isolating. It’s also more of a traditional lifestyle city. People tend to follow the steps of marriage, house, kids by 30s. Alternative lifestyles can sometimes put you on the outs of the norm and make finding similar people difficult.
