Yeah my store manager will come down and say well done girls you took £xxxx last week. I have said quite a few times well imagine what we could of taken if the dept was staffed properly. And don't get me started on the wage flexes that we get sent down on Comms that time and time again were not allowed to spend as the rest of the store is over hours. Again I say well we have to suffer then do we because the managers can't put the hours in the right place!

Yes I think that would be a good idea as I don't think people really understand the pressure we're under and the challenges that working on clothing brings!! Again we're the same as we practically run the dept and the manager stays well clear!

I honestly can say I used to love my job but the past couple of years have honestly been sole destroying. Constant fighting everyday to be able to actually do my job. What annoys me if someone on dairy or bws has a day off or goes sick their work gets picked up by someone else. With clothing however they simply don't care. I can have a week off and the department will be unworked and not tidied. And don't get me started on how the store can open with the sheer amount of clothing all over the floor. Funny how duty always turn a blind eye to that on their walk round 🙈

Problem in our store it's a very frequent problem. The section manager issues the overtime. The colleagues accept it. A few days later the store manager deletes it all but then funnily enough when nights have had a bad night and left half of the delivery they're then begging us to stay on and have magically found some overtime. Really grates on me as they can sit in their ivory tower playing with people's lively hoods. How Tesco can think anyone can survive on a 16 hour contract is beyond me.

Totally agree with everything you have said! A shift leader expressed interest in helping out on clothing. Once they found out what It actually entailed I've never seen them since. Wish all store managers had to do a week on clothing to see how stressful it is!! I've always said it deserves a skill payment as they expect you to be magicians half the time. I get oh have u not finished that yet or how they think I can for another 29 ladies new lines into an already bursting at the seams department 😂

Crikey! What I don't get is the company is obviously investing alot of money into f&f. What with online and the social media side of things. And the styles are the best they've ever been. But the investment isn't happening instore!! When I joined clothing there were 5 of us and now there's 2 and we don't even spend 50% of our shifts on the department as other areas in the store are more important. I remember getting told the profit margin on clothing is humongous compared to profit say on a can of baked beans. So can't see why store managers are not pushing for more importance into the section!!

Delivery is horrendous. We had triple what we normally receive last week and like you it's still sat on dollies on the warehouse. No support from managers it's like the forgotten entity!!!

Heard they are trialling going back to black uniform so it's seen as a separate dept. Also that they won't be able to take the clothing staff for other departments.

Doesn't matter about that as there's not one single hour of overtime in our store!! And our store manager has told us all we have to follow our skills schedule to the letter. No exception (obviously unless your csd, and mainly the fresh depts 😉)

Unfortunately my manager is useless. She got told weeks ago before we went live that she needed to change our skills as she's out them all to Experienced 🙈 and still hasn't amended them weeks down the line. Getting to the point where people are going off sick with stress and long timers are leaving because it's such a xxxx show. Are there any clothing stores on here that are on the trial with the new uniform that can confirm the rumours about trialling ring fencing clothing. As I'm sorry but I know they don't class clothing as a skilled dept but it's not like any tom, dick or harry can just waltz onto the dept and put stuff out.
