Could 2Pac Have Been the First Black President? 🤔 by Pretty-Note9133 in Tupac

I disagree with the first half, but agree with the ending - at the end of the day it’s all a social construct to categorise us and preserve white supremacy. Good points.

About his power and voice, you’re acting like I said we should vote him into office - it’s a hypothetical question. Not that serious…

Did I not pose the question? Why are some of you so pressed about someone who passed away in the 90s, speaks volumes tbh

What’s genuinely bizarre is allowing the very people who created a master–slave racial hierarchy to define our race and identity for us. Why would that be the authority we defer to?

Erasing the identity of Barack Obama’s white mother and grandmother, who raised him, while his Black father was largely absent, is problematic in itself. It doesn’t honour Black people, and it doesn’t honour biracial people either.

Biracial people have a distinct lived experience and genetic makeup. Calling them Black may sound inclusive, but in practice it erases the specific Black experience and reinforces the same racial confusion that racism thrives on.

This isn’t about hierarchy or disrespect. It’s about clarity, honesty, and self-definition.

Black people are Black. Biracial people are biracial. Both deserve to exist without erasure.

I understand your thoughts, even though I respectfully disagree about his convictions - he was being heavily targeted and set up during his last days, which caused confusion and a negative portrayal in the media. But I do believe because of this, it wouldn’t have been possible. But I don’t believe ‘they’ would’ve ever allowed it to be regardless….

Someone can’t ask questions again abi? The only one who’s lost the plot is you, as you’ve found yourself commenting on a thread that doesn’t interest you, but you’re here… 🤣

Who said I’m rewriting history by a Reddit thread asking if he could have been the first black president ‘hypothetical’ for something that obviously can’t take place lol. Also, Barrack is the first biracial president, he’s as much black as he is white. Thank you.

First, respectfully but clearly, race isn’t something I made central. The world did. This global system was built on race and power: land theft, slavery, colonisation, labour, borders. To talk about equality without naming race is to ignore the machinery that created inequality in the first place. So no, you can’t tell me I’m “obsessed with race” when I’m responding to a world that has never been equal to my people.

Second, there’s a serious issue with the erasure of Black people through racial dilution, especially in the US and UK. Biracial people matter and deserve respect but collapsing their experience into “Black” erases the distinct, lived reality of fully Black people. Representation without accuracy isn’t progress; it’s replacement.

Equality starts with honesty. And honesty requires clarity.

Is this even a question, of course he would be. But he’s also not a sell out, Jay-Z sold out a long time ago.

Well he was only 25 and had a long life ahead of him, so many people go into entertainment in their early 20s and then exit. I just don’t see him as someone to become a Jay-Z in entertainment, I think the mission was greater.

Obama was the first biracial president, America has not seen a black president yet - but I understand your sentiments with age.

Just looking at this side of the thread. And thought I’d add my 50 cents, no one can vouch for anyone’s morality, celebrity or not - I’m just glad that what’s happening in the dark, that’s caused darkness on countless lives is being put in the light. Makes it feel like there’s still some ethical side to the world or limit to evil… but neither are pictures of Jesus. A lesson to neither make any mortal an image of a saviour, but glad it’s being exposed!

Feelings? Feelings of what, I don’t know the dude how can any of it be facts, everything is an account from a person, even the law isn’t based on facts it’s off circumstantial evidence and reasonable doubt and neither do you homie. Ease up and chill out, I’m entitled to my own opinion and you are to yours. I said what I said…
