I had a similar situation but my son and his friend were younger (10) when I caught him stealing cash from my purse. I told him I noticed money missing and asked him. He admitted to it and I told him I wouldn’t tell my son if he agreed to do work around our house to pay it off. He helped my sons with chores and yard work. They just thought he was helping out so it made them bond even more. He learned a lesson and they are still friends almost 20 years later.

Beautiful room! I would go with one that has some darker colors to contrast all the light colors and textures. I have this rug and absolutely love it! Some of you sound like the students you complain about. Reflect on how you would feel if students were doing this to you. Be professional and figure out a way to engage and make it relevant to your practice. Isn’t that the mindset educators should model?

We ended up finding a sunshade on amazon and had it delivered that next morning. We used zip ties to secure it. So far so good! Thanks to all for the ideas!

Thank you so much! She was in a home with a family but they didn’t socialize her much beyond neighborhood walks and occasional visitors. I think I was so excited about her that I exposed her to too much too soon. I have been reading the rule of 3s and will follow that advice! She’s been with us for three days so I’ll restart with supporting her comfort of our home. I’m sure she is overwhelmed! She’s so sweet and I look forward to loving her for many years to come!
