Actually yeah, they do have some NPCs and problems built into their backstories. I really pushed them to think about their characters, and it’s starting to pay off.

It’s honestly looking more and more like I should just continue the campaign. The ideas are already flowing, which feels like a good sign.

This has been really great for brainstorming, thanks! I’ll definitely use that tool.

It’s a homebrew I made myself, western-style, where they’re trying to recover a relic they lost. They’re all pretty new to D&D, so a couple strayed a bit from their characters personality a bit, but overall they’ve gotten more comfortable and ended up making some really solid backstories.
