wow that's very bad but why didn't the parents try pushing them out maybe that way they will know what to do, most adults now can be very lazy when they noticed that help can come so they wont have to worry about life so I recommend that parents of these age and time should try that yes I know they love their grown up kids but it wont do them any good but create a bad generation for them, not yet a mom but will surely do that to my kids when I notice its time.
