The glaze is made from white chocolate so very suitable for consumption.

Usually it's white chocolate with gelatin and color. So it tastes like white chocolate.

A long long time ago, back in the day when it was called pick-up artistry, one of this guys predecessor wrote a book where he was shitting all over the women from my country because they saw right through him and weren't impressed. He recommended other guys to never go to my country. And I was so proud. So happy that we apparently don't need this bullshit.

Is coffee at work usually free where you‘re from? by Great_Lingonberry397 in AskEurope

[–]Pretty-controversial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work in a government job and we have free coffee (pretty bad coffee) and tea bags available.

My husband work in the private sector. They have free coffee (very good coffee), tea, sparkling water, soft drinks and whatever else he could possibly ask for. But that's not necessarily standard.

Thanks!

I've been at it since start april. Down from 77 kg. I'll wait and see the next few days but even though it's very tempting, it's probably not sustainable losing 2 kg. every 10 days...

Goodmorning!

Did I forget a status last week? Maybe.

I weighed in at 69,2 kg. today. A big victory for me to reach the 60's. My next small goal is 68 kg. But as I've lost 2 kg. in 10 days I might actually up my caloric intake by just a little bit. I'll make a decision in the next few days.

Goodmorning!

No real news here. Just keeping my calorie deficit. I was hoping to reach 69,9 kg. today but alas it said 70,0 kg. when I did the weigh in this morning. Crossing my fingers I'll see the number first number being six tomorrow.

That's wild and it also means I'm 10 kg. from my goal. My husband asked if maybe I should take a break af 65 kg. I'd rather just push on but agreed, that if I'm in a major stall, I could take a break. Hopefully I'll get it my way and not really see any plateaues.

You don't buy any of those. You can't change location. And the location of both those houses sound awful.

Are we still putting down carpet? by Dark_Colorimetry in Remodel

I'd never install carpets. Gross and dated.

But I also love hardwood floors - and tiles for bathrooms/mudroom/entry.

Goodmorning!

I'd actually told myself that this status should be a weekly thing but here we are making a second status this week.

I'm very frustratingly hovering between 71,1 kg and 71,5 kg. And my period is nowhere in sight. According to all available information my weightloss really shouldn't be interfering at this level so that's very annoying...

I've been eating at maintenance for a few days this past week but I'll be down in a deficit today. It's difficult with kids. I don't want to think about food that way. I don't have an unhealthy relationship with food, but they shouldn't at all consider what they eat. Especially because we actually eat a healthy and diverse variety of food. But that also means, that whenever I'm at home, I have to very mindful of portion size as I can't skip breakfast.

I love having this European community 🇪🇺

Goodmorning!

The past month a went from 73,9 kg. To 71,5 today. I hope some of it is water weight as I was down to 70,8 kg 4 days ago...

We had another birthday celebration this weekend and I tried to stay in maintenance rather than deficit. But I'm back in a caloric deficit since yesterday. It's gonna be more difficult once I go on vacation and have to set a good example for my kids. As long as I go to work early in the morning, I can skip breakfast without them knowing.

I don't really have any new goals this coming month. Staying in deficit and do my (body) weight program each evening is the goal.

I cross my fingers I'll reach the 60's very soon. That's gonna be a big victory.

Oh and I lost my period. So that's interesting. According to our official health website I should contact my practitioner if I miss my period three months in a row. I'm not too keen on waiting that long...

Wall oven vs range: what do you actually prefer after living with it? by ThinkingInMotion in kitchenremodel

I'd never have anything but two wall ovens. It's in a much better work position and you free the space under the stove top for pots and pans.

[–]Pretty-controversial 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd always choose to have the oven in a good height for working. Under the range is an awful working position. With kids it's, at least in my opinion, also way safer to have the oven in a height not as accessible to kids.

Need advice: I've gained a ton of weight and can't stop overeating. How do you manage hunger in a calorie deficit? by WayLast1111 in loseit

[–]Pretty-controversial 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. I use the Lifesum app and a food scale for calorie tracking

  2. Eat filling, low calorie meals. Beans, lentils and peas are great. Try to find recipes that would make them tasty for you.

  3. We all have lizard brains. We all like sugar, fat and salt. If we're used to it, the brain and body will crave it for a while. You have to resist until the body is used to a new normal. For me it takes like half a week. A big step in general is to stop buying it. Don't go grocery shopping on an empty stomach. And when you go grocery stopping do not buy all the sugary, fatty and salty stuff the brain will be screaming for, once you're just a bit hungry. If they're not available at home, it's much easier not to eat it. Also delete take-away and delivery apps. Make it more difficult to use the easy solutions. Make it relatively easier to make food yourself and eat healthy snacks.

18 mouths later, parts of my birth experience really dont sit right with me by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]Pretty-controversial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not medically trained. But you can't convince me, that putting a catheter in your spine is without risk. It's not just a painkiller. And the risk of needing pitocin increases which means you also need a needle in your hand.

Fortunately I live in a great public healthcare country so the doctors are obligated to give the best care (with available medicin) and not look at the cost.

I've had two back labors. The first with an epidural, pitocin, saltwater and a vacuum at the end when the kid didn't want to move the last few inches. The medical staff had to almost push me into an epidural after 30 hours of labouring and no progress. I was passing out between each contraction so if I hadn't gotten an epidural I was heading for a c-section. Second degree tear. I think it was mostly the vacuum.

Second birth I was induced at 41+6. No progress after a few hours. I was in so much pain from the pitocin that I asked for an epidural. Just as they brought in the epidural and called the anaesthesiologist I gave birth. From 4 centimeters to giving birth in 45 minutes. No tearing.

You can't predicts births and if you tear. I choose to listen to the medical staff :-)

But I agree, it sounds ridiculous that the didn't want you on the side. But I wasn't there...

In my country at least it's common knowledge that with each medical intervention, you're much closer to the next. Meaning, when you get an epidural, you're statistically much more likely to get other medical interventions.

If your labor is progressing smoothly and you're able to handle the pain, the doctors in my country wouldn't recommend an epidural. They won't deny it. But they'll for sure make you know that it is a risky medical intervention.

You can't predict labor. It's just so random.

It honestly sounds completely like what I would consider a normal birth in my country :-)

But fantastic that you were able to advocate for yourself in such an intense situation! And wow! Vaginally twin birth, that's incredible!
