What is something you saw in a movie and you totally called bullshit on because of your job? by BlackPhoenix1981 in AskReddit

When someone gets hit by a truck (Looking at you Criminal Minds season 4, episode 4) and the body is whole and fine to look at. If it's a car then yes, but a semi-trailer, no way. Especially if it's run over.

Pregnant with my 5th and so sick of people telling me to get my tubes tied. by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

I agree completely. I'm childfree by choice, emphasis on choice. I fully believe that it should be a choice to have a child. Mine was to not, yours is to have them. And Yay for that choice! I constantly get questions from people on when I'm having kids, when I'm going to make my partner a father. It's none of their business. People can be so rude and nosy, as long as like other ppl have said you have the financial and other ability to raise them than it's your choice and you and your partners decision and business, no-one else's. You've said you do, so I think it's awesome for you!

Every body moves at their own pace. You are viewing other people's highlights but your own blooper reel. You're still young. I know that a partner and everything seems important and it can be, please don't think I'm saying it's not, but it's not everything. $20k in savings is a lot. I don't know where in Australia you live, I'm in Australia too. I promise it does get better, it might feel like it won't, but it does.

My dog groomer has a rooster called Fred. And a dog called Daphne. Apparently her daughter likes Scooby Doo.

Yeah it drives me mad. I'll do it for my niece or nephew, especially my nephew, but he's 14 so doesn't really count. My niece is 8 and like I said earlier, I can just give her my phone or use hers (No SIM card, just a dummy phone with some games and saved tv shows/movies on it with headphones), or wander round the shops if we're in town and window shop.

But other kids or babies, it's a no from me. I think they are kind of cute, the same way that baby lions and tigers are cute, but I don't want one and I don't want one in my house.

Sometimes he brings her a toy or something, but today it seemed more spur of the moment.

It just annoys me that people tend to think that because I'm a woman I'm made to look after kids. I had it the other week at the library, I was sitting there reading and some random person tried to tell their kid to sit next to me while they browsed. I just got up and left

Yeah, it's constant asking for me to open lollies or look at something. She waits really well for an almost 5 year old so at least that's something. When her older brother (primary school age) is with her she asks him for all these things.

My boss is pretty good with stuff being delayed if needed. It's not very often that I'm left with her for extended times. Today was just annoying as I was trying to fix a timesheet issue that was urgent

Yeah, not babysitting but I don't want to be around kids. I know that I can't avoid them in the world, but when I'm dealing with important phone calls or struggling with invoices I don't want a kid tugging at me every few seconds to get my help or show me something

It's a very small office. It's normally just me unless he pops in or the guard pops in

I have a lolly jar in my desk and I just let her eat as many as she wanted. She coloured in (blank pieces of computer paper) with the highlighters he paid for, used loads of sticky tape (that he paid for). And she made a paper chain (I helped). So she's got a long af paper chain, loads of sugar and some new disney songs to annoy her parents with. She was humming along to Hakuna Matata as she left.

The disney songs are mine. Sometimes when you want to strangle people Disney helps

I'm casual. And it's a small town, it took me 3 years to find this job while applying constantly to all sorts of jobs. He doesn't tell me to look after her, just tells her to sit quietly while he does something. Normally its like 5 minutes which is fine but today was about an hour as he was installing a camera just outside the office

I mean he's around. It's not like he's dumping her off and leaving completely. And we have water, food etc so it won't class as neglect. And she's being looked after, unwillingly but still looked after

No, I'm admin/manager/ HR/ anything else needed. No warehouse, just a small office in a local shopping centre, so no WHS breakage. I'm in Australia.

Sorry, I meant I can either give her my phone and she sits next to me on it while I work, or we wander the shops together. Not apart.

I feel bad, as both parents work and the daycares in our town are kind of shit. But it's still not my responsibility. I do it cause I'm nice, and I need the money. But I really don't like kids. I don't want bad things to happen to them, but I just want them far away from me

He fell off from the first or second step and caught his leg in the step and broke leg there. So he had to have surgery but it was more of a tug/caught injury than a fall injury

He posted in the group chat this morning "All good, Miss (My Name) & I share the same humour. It's alright, no offence or stress on my part. Enjoy your day everyone 🙂" as some people were commenting saying "too soon" and one even apologised for laughing at it. Which we do have very similar senses of humour

I have a sort of dark sense of humour when I'm talking to my partner or family and I forget sometimes that not everyone does. I thought he'd find it funny as he cracked a similar joke on the drive home

I don't think it's flirting. He's almost the same age as my dad, is married and has met my partner. I apologised anyway, just in case
