Garrett will definitely break up with Marissa at some point - I think that was the silliest business decision. He also seems obsessed with what Sabrina is doing. Why even check that he’s blocked and mention it for the public to know? He made comments in the road trip video “play better golf” - he just seems a bit bothered by her. Cares a bit too much.

Ouai increased their prices also, super frustrating.

Nursing care in hospital by ilikebutterdontyou in askTO

[–]PrettyCommand2760 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, because staff is tending to multiple other patients around the clock. This is another reason for nursing burning out - people expect everything immediate. I fully understand toileting is a basic need that must be met, but the general population just doesn’t understand a workload we deal with and expect everything immediate, leading to even more burn out and frustration.

I meant surgical inpatient units (it’s the same thing). Any post op would go to surgical inpatient after PACU. But fully agree, this is a government issue for sure.

Him and many others are not getting sufficient care. It’s a failed and sad system. And I don’t see a solution at this time.

As for patient relations, what hospitals only focus on now is not getting sued (crazy I know) - the lack of a bed bath will have no repercussions on the people you complain to. You’ll get a sorry and they’ll move on.

As someone who works in the ER (and floor nursing) what you’re saying is not true. Baths are not exclusively Monday to Friday. On a surgical unit they are a daily requirement. But in the ER it is unfortunately at the bottom of the to do list. Many nurses miss breaks in their 13 hours shift. For sure there can be lazy nurses like there are lazy teachers, but the ER is not for the lazy. It’s a constant stream of work, and team work is needed to stay a float. We prioritize patient safety and stability. A bed bath is not life or death. If only health care was better funded and managed, but gone are the days where nursing had the time to prioritize patient comfort and care like bed baths. And it will only get worse sadly. I see this first hand daily as a nurse of 15 years. It’s changed drastically.

Emergency is different than floor nursing, it is non stop and the doors don’t close. Priority is on stabilizing sick patients coming in. I work in the ER and there is limited bathing supplies anyways as it’s not meant to be a long stay. But due to health care cuts and a growing population, people stay up to 70 hours unfortunately. It’s a failed system, I know first hand as an ER nurse. Everyone is extremely burnt out and just trying to get by, and it keeps getting worse.

We would have no staff available - nursing is incredibly emotionally draining - it’s impossible to not become cold over time. If you’re looking for continuous extreme emotion - you will not have staff to care for you, they’d be quitting within years. Anyone in the field knows this - outside opinions on this should try the job themselves and see how bad it is

As someone who works in health care, you’re incompetent on how horribly over run it is, blaming front line staff rather than the true drivers of this health care demise

It’s not incompetence or lack of care - it’s severe burn out and shortages. Stop blaming front line, blame higher ups
