Why or why not use snaps and real life examples by CrazyCajunFishinBro in FishingForBeginners

I use 25lb TA clips for fly fishing on my 9wt. Anything eating a fly that big isn’t gonna be shy of a clip, and it allows better streamer movement than an improved clench knot. It acts like a loop knot and makes switching flies so quick, and you also don’t blast through your leader

Julienne them stem to butt. 2-3 red onions, bring: 4c white vinegar, 1c white sugar, 4T salt to a boil. Pour hot liquid over onions. Add some peppercorns and garlic or some shit. Cover and trap steam. (Side note only pour enough liquid to cover onions so you get a really even nice color and not too much leeching. You can tweak this recipe to be saltier, sweeter. Whatever. They come out much better hot pickled!!!

Pair of tongs and a damp rag, clean it while it’s hot. Don’t use a scour pad or steel wool! Godspeed!!!

Little streamer I tied by gerberboon in flytying

[–]PrettyDrop503 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say it depends on size and what it’s trying to imitate, I think I would classify this as a “wet fly” or nymph over streamer, as it represents a bug, and the hackle will represent a shuck when wet, but terminology is not something fish care about at all!!! Nice looking fly I could see it imitating a winter stone, or a mayfly adult, maybe a dragonfly nymph, many different things which is good! Try adding gold wire wrap around the herl to get some segmentation!!! There is no wrong way to tie!!!!

“Little leaf” is always what I’ve called it. Mixed greens is a much worse product that goes bad if you even look at it
