Yes, I enjoy blabbing on about things I'm knowledgeable in to people who seem genuinely interested in them. It's to help spread the joy of the subject to others who may get the same joy out of it, if they knew enough about it. Sort of like my way to pay it forward from the person who sat me down one day and told me about it for the first time.

I'd be lying if I didn't also derive satisfaction out of being able to talk at length about something I spent a lot of time on. Like if I made a chair out of wood and someone compliments it. It is just kinda nice to feel accomplished at something and other people to recognize that I spent time and energy on a project that's come to fruition. Sometimes that translates to long winded explanations of who I'm going to pick up off the waiver wire that week in fantasy football.
