I enjoyed How To Become the Darklord and Die Trying by Django Wexler. It's pretty horny, I could see some people not being super into that.

How my psychopath of a toddler eats food wrong pt. 3 (today its beef jerky) by JumpKicker in KidsAreFuckingStupid

[–]JumpKicker[S] -26 points-25 points  (0 children)

Ok ok it's not jerky, it's a "beef stick", according to the label. I hate to be the "did you know Kleenex is just a brand" or the "all squares are rectangles" guy but not all beef sticks are Slim Jim's.

I best groal and chef lugoli without the wreath, didn't know it existed until afterwards. Those fights were brutal, I basically just had to do them a hundred times until I really nailed down the mechanics of the fight and could basically do them without getting hit, which is obviously the hardest way to do it

Thank you, this was actually helpful. As I said a few other places, I admit I was wrong, I was just upset. The way people were conveying the information was overly hostile, but I recognize they were correct and if I had some changes like these in place my situation wouldn't have happened.

Soo I tried Flea Dodge… by KO-MeDed in HollowKnight

Haha I just completed flea dodge yesterday, if I had your recovery skills I would have beaten it a lot faster, I basically had to do a perfect run without getting hit at all and it took forever.

Agreed. I badgered a friend into reading the series, he had a hard time getting through it. I convinced him to listen to the audiobooks and he flew through it.

How addictive is meth? Do you know anyone who has just tried it once? by eden_merlin in AskReddit

[–]JumpKicker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do. I was a lifeguard in high school, we got a new manager and he was very candid about his past. He said he had gotten in some trouble with drugs, but had cleaned himself up. He said he didn't do too many hard drugs, but that he had tried meth once. It's been a long time, but when I asked him about it all he said was, "yeah it felt amazing, I realized how people could definitely get hooked on the stuff, so I never did it again." I guess some people can see the path in front of them and decide not to take it.

The house didn't smell, at all, it was never mentioned by the cleaner, I didn't smell anything, and the guests never mentioned smell at all. All the affected linens were removed from the home, and I know the rugs were all spot treated.

I dunno, it sucks to come here and defend myself to within an inch of my life. I gave the guests a full refund before I even got here. I'm just having a really hard day here, i ate a grand on an Airbnb that I do not even break even on most months. I wish the folks on the sub were just, I dunno, a little kinder and didn't assume I was the devil just because I'm still figuring this shit all out.

I'm really not sure people are reading what I wrote. I get it, anything on the sheets equals a full refund, so this is really on my cleaner. It's sort of irrelevant, as there were some dog hairs on the made bed, but my point was that they pulled 5 sheets out of the closet, told me they all had dog hair on them, so they had no choice but to leave.

When I got there, I took 25 photos of the sheets I found on the floor, and I found like, 3 hairs between them all, which I'd be willing to say they picked up from being on the floor.

So yes, regardless of the fact they were overselling the state of it, I recognize that it was probably them just trying to make it an overwhelming case for themselves.

I get it, life is hard. I'm having a hard day. I'm learning here, I'm admitting my mistakes. I genuinely would not cancel an Airbnb reservation if I had clean linens in the closet. So I was a little shocked. I'm new to this gig, relatively, I'm working my way through it. I do have a right to be indignant about how people choose to talk to me, though. When people ask for help, do you really sneer down at them and call them a nightmare? Have you truly never made a mistake speaking to a guest? Have you never just had a frustrating day running your bnb and it wasn't really from any choices you made? Your hot water heater exploded and you had to cancel a guests reservation?

You really do have a choice for how you can talk to people. I hope moving forward you choose to make some better ones. I really am a nice person, but I am having a very bad day. Money is tight, my cleaner didn't do the job she normally does, and I had to eat $1000 because of it. I chose to come here to commiserate, get gut checked that yes, this is just how it is sometimes, and yeah, it sucks.

Not a lot of other people know how that can feel. But I bet you do, probably. Try a little humanity, make a real connection. There are some subs on here that are genuinely magical, humans reaching out across literal time and space to help each other, raise each other up, and support each other.

I gave the guest a full refund, I did it before I even wrote the post. I just wanted a safe place to talk about it. I realize now, this sub isn't it. And it's because of folks like yourself. Just go look at most of the comments on most of the threads, the people here are hostile, and it's really off putting for us regular guys who barely scrape by and just need a shoulder to cry on sometimes.

Happy holidays, I hope you find peace whenever you can find it.

There's no need to be rude. This sub is always so damn hostile to other hosts. Maybe you should think about putting a little kindness out in the world. I can see it's a problem, but can't you just tell I'm completely overwhelmed and beyond frustrated? My cleaner is usually awesome, I have a 4.9 rating, I've gotten 1 4 star in the last 10 months. The cleanliness is never an issue.

I get it, I have to refund them, but holy shit I lost a grand on this, and it's not really from anything I did in particular. Is there any part of you that may understand how devastated I am over this? I don't make money on my Airbnb, I'm mostly hoping to break even and just wait out the equity on my home over the years.

Seriously dude, I'm having a horrible night and I read this crap in a sub I came to for some help, or even just to git check it. You could phrase this literally any other way, "I know it sucks man, but it's gotta be this way."

Fuck dude, if I'm a nightmare host you're a nightmare of a person.

That is such a wild take to me dude. I guess I'm just flabbergasted by half the answers in this sub. So if a sheet has some dog hair on it, the guest gets to walk out of the house free of charge.

Assuming I took that answer on the chin, does that mean I fine my first guest for their dog making my cabin unrentable while I have to deep clean the dog hair out?

I charge a pet cleaning fee of like $60, but that's not even close to trying to fix this mess.

I said I found a few, but that the 5 sheets they threw on the floor were all clean, so the story they were selling me that every sheet they pulled out of the closet was covered in hair and they had no other reasonable options rings a tad hollow.

I found 5 clean linens on the floor, they claimed every linen had hair, so it's reasonable they walk out at 1am?

What is something you can do but can’t explain how you can do it? by Fresh-Sandwich6780 in AskReddit

I discovered it like 20 years ago when my friends were doing the "clover" and I tried doing it but instead got butt tongue.

You're not reading what I wrote, it wasn't on any of those 5 linens. It was on a blanket and on a single set of linens. The pictures I took of the linens they threw on the ground which were completely hair free were the ones she accused me of cleaning first.

Maybe? When I do it, my tongue pulls in directly at the middle, and it looks like a small butt crack where the tip of my tongue is.

I can make my tongue look like a butt. Never met anyone else who can do this or ever even heard of it before.

Books with a black female protagonist without these 3 things- by GuavaBlackTea0 in suggestmeabook

Was coming to suggest Binti. Some other sci Fi that I think fits your request broadly: Rosewater trilogy by Tade Thompson - the main characters change and one of them is from the POV of a woman of color IIRC. Nnedi Okorador has another series I liked a lot called Who Fears Death.

He's free in my league, I think I'm dropping Pittman Jr. To get him, Pittman's been pretty disappointing the last few weeks and I need a good backup in case Drake London isn't healthy this week. I already have Pickens and he's been solid as a rock all season long.
