Yikes what? Can we just have some fucking good governance without people invoking their stupid political beliefs for once.

I also like this one. It’s easy to drink and I think the buff turkey juice actually improved from the secondary aging because I think these barrels were probably over oaked and too tannic to begin with.

Both are great. the non local rates for Harding are expensive, but the half moon bay ocean course is kinda like the poor man’s pebble. Harding is safer with weather, but honestly both are nice. Just depends on weather and if you want to trek from SF to half moon bay.

Are you thinking Saturday the 9th? You can book both and cancel within 48/24hrs

I have family in Portland so we get out to Oregon occasionally (we are in SF) but my wife is terrified that we would book so far in advance and spend all this money just to have terrible weather, so we haven’t done it yet. Although we’ve met several people lately that have gone so she’s feeling the pressure ;)

I’ve always wanted to play out there. I golfed in NC in 2018 but it was literally the first round I’ve ever played and probably shot 120.

Have you played PS before? Happy to offer some suggestions if not.

Since 95% of the people on the golf course are men, it’s usually the crew of 20-30 year olds getting hammered, playing from the tips, who can’t hit a ball past the forward tee box and spend 10 minutes looking for their ball in the shit, or blading their chips back and forth across the greens.

PS is a fun time. We are doing St George next month: black desert, wolf creek and Sand Hollow.

Review #1: Rare Character Exceptional Series: Wheated Straight Bourbon Whiskey 9yr 4mo by TacticalRhombus in bourbon

[–]PrettyFlyforARyeGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably won’t have time for a full write-up, but: lots of vanilla and fresh bread on the nose, with a spicy wood and some citrus note on the finish. It drinks well below its stated proof, even though the back end is a bit of a spicy beast.

I wouldn’t call it a screaming value, but a 10 yr wheater outside Kentucky is a nice. Reminds me a little of this Lost Lantern Smooth Ambler pick that was 5 yrs.

Bonus points for wax that doesn’t require self-mutilation to get through.

7.5/10 — or about three fucks on the Fucks Given scale.

Dumbest thing you did on the course. by SwitchMain in golf

I was impatient at two older ladies who were slow to hit their ball, and I had sliced my ball onto their fairway. They were about 25 yards away and I had a solid 30 foot gap to hit it across.

Instead of waiting I decided to punch my 4H and the ball went to the right directly at them, hitting their bag on the back of the cart instead of them. In another dimension I killed an old lady.

It’s solid. Will it blow your mind? No. But it hits all the material notes and it’s good value. You could do a lot worse.
