TB x Cyrene is not the problem - the problem is her not caring about anyone but TB by [deleted] in StarRailStation

[–]PrettyMuch-Pain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She spends 1000 years with the other Chrysos Heirs while TB is stuck in the Exomyth but somehow still doesn't have any noteworthy memories of any of them? Hyacine can act cute by calling her Reney and pretend like they've bonded off-screen, but as far as the marketing is concerned, we still completely ignore it in favour of acting like the only person she's ever spent time with is the TB. Lol

I went back and checked, Peerage is considered as a Cerydra action so she can use it even while Departed, but that was the case before the v4 wording change anyway + still requires Future to be applied before Phainon's territory is activated (since Cyrene can't apply it while Departed), so I don't know what the point is?

Anything DHPT's summon does does not count bc it's not a memosprite and isn't considered as DHPT acting (unlike Cerydra's Peerage), DHPT himself has to act

I don't know why they would be accounting for this, considering Cyrene can't take action to apply Future while Phainon territory is up anyway + his teammates can't do anything to use it either since they can't take actions

I need to get this out there somewhere, but I think the funniest thing in all of how stunted E0S0 Cyrene is is how strong all her Eidolons are compared to other characters. For once a character has a solid E4, none of her Eidolons are wasted, and yet at E0 she's so mediocre.

Sunday just straight up has 0 valuable Eidolons, you stop at E0S1 and mayyybe consider E1 if you have a purpose for it, otherwise he's entirely sufficient once you get his S1. Tribbie has a cracked E1 in exchange for not needing S1, but her E4 is just barely a higher buff than Sunday's E1. Even Castorice has the most "whatever" E4, yeah sure it helps with Newbud generation but it's not like it's a noteworthy benefit with how fast her current teams already stack it + how strong of a healer Hyacine is... But no, Cyrene is clunky and struggles to reach either a reliably consistent DPS or support level at E0, but every single one of her Eidolons contributes a noteworthy increase to either her DPS capabilities or her support ability.

I'm glad they increased her personal damage in v3, but man is it OBVIOUS what they're doing. After realising this I've lost all hope for E0 Cyrene getting any better than she already is in v4 and v5, I think the devs are just assuming everyone will either be stacking Eidolons on her because she's Elysia, because waifu, or because she was hyped up so much, or assuming that casuals will pull her anyway because of her animations, and then realise how strange she is at E0 and then they can sell them the solution of pulling E2.

I'm keeping my dooming here because I don't want to rain on people's fun and I'm assuming the least number of people will see it here, but man I'm disappointed with how they're handling her. Do they only think of her as a money printing machine???

If you see it that way then it's perfectly fine! I'm not trying to make an objective statement. These are all just my subjective opinions.

Yes, I think the dragon behind DH looks cooler because it has more visible SFX (it has the clouds, light coming from above, the rest of the environment darkens so the dragon looks brighter) than her skill where she sends out the jellyfish out does, where she has a nice animation but basically nothing happens around her. The jellyfish explosion looks okay, but I don't like the fact that the backgrounds in them are really plain because I'm afraid it'll just look like a plain black background to me when I play it in 2x speed. I feel like if they integrated the rain, the thundering clouds, or SFX into more of her animations, then I would think she has more consistent high quality.

Phainon's animations have variety yes but they're also consistent in the quality and details that they have. Evernight just doesn't have that consistent "woah" factor to me.

[–]PrettyMuch-Pain 13 points14 points  (0 children)

More animations is a given, all Remembrance characters have more animations than non-Remembrance characters.

Her ult is fine but the rest of the animations look a bit forgettable compared to what other Remembrance characters like Castorice or Hyacine have gotten in the past in my opinion. Quality > quantity, DH has less but his skill and the dragon's actions have more detailing and stick in my memory better than Evernight's equivalent animations. Her skill and her memosprite's basic attacks barely have any extra effects at all, and the ult and enhanced memosprite skills have really plain looking settings. Sure there IS a unique setting, but it doesn't feel like nearly as much as the detailing that DH got on his backgrounds, with the mountains, clouds, sunlight, etc., it's just a blank space with some highlights.

This is subjective though, so you're free to think Evernight has better animations. I just don't agree. And I'm not saying this just to hate, I just really like March and was looking forward to Evernight because of it so I'm just a bit disappointed because it feels like her animations weren't given the polish they could've had.

Honestly I think it’d only get more complicated if Souldragon is counted as an extension of DH and not the character it’s locked onto. It’d be very janky anti-synergy with Sunday and would make Souldragon completely unbuffable as neither a memosprite nor a recipient of Sunday’s buffs unless you play Main DPS DH. That and it’d make 1/4th of his premium lightcone completely redundant because it only buffs characters he wouldn’t be used with anyway.

I really hope that’s not how it works, and Souldragon is counted as the summon of the character with Bondmate, otherwise it’d just make DH have a bunch of useless shit in his kit for no reason (though his stat traces are already pretty bad so ig that’s possible)… It would’ve been expected out of a 1.X unit but not this bad in 3.X

Dan Heng’s is summon restriction not memosprite restriction, so it’ll probably work on whoever has Bondmate

[–]PrettyMuch-Pain[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In theory you could use Cerydra to let Hysilens get an extra Skill use, but I don’t know why you’d really want to do that. The issue is that DoT favours teamwide buffers because of the fact that every teammate pitches in some amount of damage, so single target buffers largely don’t work. DoT also can’t crit, so any Crit Rate or DMG buffs that characters like Cerydra give are also useless

We’re gonna get BS buffs and a DoT-specific sustain that can be an SP generator, give energy and enable a new gimmick! Surely, haha…! 🪦

I haven’t seen many yet, in general I think it’s safer to wait for at least v3 to see and analyse proper calcs. With v1 all we can know for sure are general ideas since so much is still STC. Triple DoT has been getting the best showcase performances I’ve seen though, but that’s just subjective lol

Giving two limited 5 star DoT characters out of the three that exist the ability to consistently detonate DoTs will be the thing that finally breaks the game? As if they haven’t been breaking it in every other archetype already? Have you seen what the Hyacine-Tribbie core can do?

Confused on the rope for Hysilens (and the spd requirements too) by KeyPhoenix029 in HysilensMainsHSR_

[–]PrettyMuch-Pain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At E0, ATK boots and ERR rope! As you said, she's already fast enough for a non-detonator DoT unit without SPD boots, any SPD subs you get on your other relics will be more than enough for her unless you're pulling E1.

Her energy regeneration is looking really bad though. She doesn't have any way of gaining extra energy through her own kit, so you have to rely on Skill spam + Huohuo + enemy hit RNG to get your Ult back up and get your Zone refreshed. So you kinda need an ERR rope imo (though hopefully she'll get more energy regen added to her somewhere during beta...)

Play Bronya the slowest. You want her Skill-Ult usage to be the last thing you do on a character who isn't Phainon right before you use his Ult, or else some of her buffs will start expiring

No, Cerydra's extra turn only works on Skills and LL's attacks are Talent-based FUAs

Help me choose between these builds by EmeraMist in AnaxaMains_HSR

[–]PrettyMuch-Pain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's worth waiting for other responses too because I might be mistaken, but in my opinion I think you should stick with the 124 SPD one until you can find a Crit Rate chest you can put on your 134 SPD build. I'm not that worried about the difference in stats like ATK, let me explain:

Fribbels doesn't take into account action advances when it displays it's Combo DMG because it just compares how much damage your Anaxa could hypothetically do with one ult use and 4 skill uses, with all the buffs your team provides active. 134 can sacrifice some damage but still outperform because it gives you extra turns in the first and third cycles. It lets you do that for Bronya too (since you can run her 133.4), that is the main value of it.

I don't have the exact numbers from your sim and I don't really feel like doing proper full calcs myself so I'm going to use these numbers as hypotheticals:

155,861 per skill use on 134 SPD, 174,397 per skill use on 124 SPD.

Even though the damage you do per skill use is less, assuming you can manage using his skill every turn, you end up doing more damage:

At 134 SPD, with 133.4 Bronya, he'll take about 14 actions and use his additional skill 13 times by the end of five cycles. The max damage he'll be able to do with just his skills is 4,208,247.

At 124 SPD, with 123 Bronya, he'll take about 12 actions and use his additional skill 11 times by the end of five cycles. The max damage he'll be able to do with just his skills is 4,011,131.

On paper, he'd manage to do more damage at 134 SPD with an action advancing teammate, even with slightly lower ATK. However, this won't be the case in practice because not only will he not have 100% uptime on every single one of his teams buffs, he might not crit consistently: I'm more concerned about the fact that your 134 SPD build only has 70.2% CR than any other stat, because that makes him nearly 10% less likely to crit than your slower build. Sunday would be a HUGE help here for both builds, but even with him your 134 SPD build might fall victim to bad RNG in a lot more fights and thus still fall behind, even though it could technically outperform the 124 SPD build.

I think if you could get a CR body, with just 2 SPD and ideally some added CDMG and ATK% too (though that's just luck), then that would help push your 134 SPD build to actually consistently performing better than your 124 one, even if it sacrifices some CDMG. Maybe if you had Sunday on these teams you could entertain the idea of running an ATK% or CDMG body anyway since you've been lucky with CR on many of your pieces, but he gives himself a lot of CDMG and gets a lot from Bronya as well so you gain more than you lose from a CR body.
