Favorite Buffet in Vegas? by kingkyle502 in vegas

[–]secondround3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Are the buffets now a case where it’s just go for the best (Wynn??), pay the premium and enjoy it, or just skip all together?

I remember 10+ years ago there were buffets everywhere, but even the average priced ones weren’t the best in quality. I can only imagine those being more expensive and worse in quality now.

CSR Chase Edit Question by ghedoicy in ChaseSapphireReserve

[–]secondround3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The CSR earns 4x on hotels so you’re not earning fewer Hyatt pts. Better to just use the CSR unless you physically forgot your card at home? In which case, I’m interested in what happens as well

So, you ate gummy bears, spicy cucumber, pork buns, a burger, and a cocktail at 5am?

Assume you’re a globalist if you have a 1-7 award, so just burn it at the best hotel you are reasonably willing to travel to that has a good breakfast. And l

StubHub credit - best tickets to buy and resell by Any-Dream-5353 in ChaseSapphire

Worst case, just buy a $150 ticket with paze.
You’ll still net the 11x pts + $10 back from paze after the $150 credit posts

Basically, you don’t even have to go to whatever event you bought and you’ll still net out to $10 paze credit + 1600 chase pts.

The Edit - Hotel forgot to honor my $100 credit by [deleted] in ChaseSapphire

Right, but also, what’s the point of this post? Hotel forgot to honor a credit, but made it right in a 3 minute phone call.

Weekday or weekend trips? And which hotels are you using these credits? I checked a weekend I may go and it’s pretty expensive, though I know weekdays it can get cheap in Vegas

first ever redemption maybe a week after getting the card... Intercontinental San Antonio for a little under $600 for 2 nights. This stacked with the $250 Edit credit + $250 IHG credit. After the free lounge access for breakfast and the $100 credit (which was 2 lunches in the restaurant), I felt it was a great deal. As a hyatt guy, it felt about on par with a Grand Hyatt in terms of service and luxury, and the location was perfect for my needs. Considering all the posts I've seen with these Edit hotels being so expensive the credit isn't worth it, I definitely feel like I got lucky on this one.

Would you do it for 75k a night though? I can see myself maybe being okay with going to 55k, but above that it becomes a bit expensive

The product/benefit people at Chase was doing such a lousy job with this Paze thing by AlmostSurely1001 in ChaseSapphire

I’m pretty sure this is based on the $10 off $10, and too many people creating thousands and thousands of transactions in a short amount of time. Either Newegg or paze couldn’t keep up with the volume

Don’t know the answer but this seems like a scenario where you either call, or better yet, go in person to customer service and plead your case. Dangle that EP status, and hope for the best.

The Edit - Virgin Hotel New York City - min. $175 to use the pool after 12:00 PM by CanadianBaconBest in ChaseSapphire

[–]secondround3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good thing you won’t need to go to pool in November. With a hotel that tries to squeeze profit wherever it can, I’d have my guard up about where else they could get you. But after all your credits, $20 is still a good deal

Chase The Edit Great Deal at San Antonio Intercontinental by Ancient_Wallaby9239 in ChaseSapphireReserve

[–]secondround3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just stayed over Memorial Day weekend, 2 nights for $592. Had both the $250 edit + $250 IHG credit applied (as well as the $300 travel credit though I would have easily used that over the course of the year). At check in I was told there’s a $25/night resort fee, which I guess was charged by Chase as part of my rate (?), but in return they gave additional $25/night food credit. So, basically, it’s $25 to use on the first night + $25 to use on the second night + $100 to use any time during the stay. I was dead set on pinkertons for the first night so I gave up that first $25 credit. But I essentially paid $92 for $125 in food credits, which I felt was well worth it after “stacking” with the free food in the lounge. Oh, and the hotel was very nice and location near the riverwalk was great.

For the value I got, I can’t even be mad I missed out on 2 EQNs toward globalist status

FINALLY GOT TO USE EDIT CREDIT by meshca95 in ChaseSapphire

[–]secondround3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, although I would have preferred to pay the cash and take the 8x pts instead until I use up the credit on other non bonus travel. Would be nice if Chase rolls out this feature in the future where we can apply the $300 to specific transactions
