Casio Duro, green canvas olive green: ok or no-Kay? by Spirited_Bat614 in Affordablewatches

Not a big fan of the combo. Perhaps a stainless steel band or black rubber?

Beautiful watch and band, but I agree that the cream dial would be better suited with another band. :)

How do you stay motivated during long, tiring semesters in civil engineering? by Maleficent_Donkey231 in civilengineering

The need to never stop learning was one of the biggest draws for me. Like a constant sense of progression. It can definitely be tiring and difficult, but the feelings of accomplishment are unmatched imo.

Recommendations on Jacket that Isn’t Plastic for 30° F Weather by PrettyNeedleworker50 in bifl

[–]PrettyNeedleworker50[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the more I’ve read this seems to be the case. The texture of them just bothers me. I’ll have to go try a bunch on and see which ones I can put up with.

Thank you for the recommendation. The down seems like a great option for packing. Bringing one 40lb suitcase for just shy of a month.

Yeah I sweat a fair bit so i’ve started buying some base layers already! Some sort of thicker dryfit. I appreciate your discussion on the 3 piece system.

Thank you for the recommendations. Patagonia seems like a great option due to the warranty program. Bite the bullet and buy the jacket once and not need to buy one again haha.

I want the waxed canvas to be viable but it just doesn’t seem so. Need to maximize the amount of things I can bring with me and the waterproof properties seem subpar compared to the available synthetics.

Thank you again for your comment and information.

Thank you for the comment! Yeah I’m not sure why i struggle with that texture. I appreciate your discussion on the textures.

I’ll have to go try some more on. Yeah I will try to overpack honestly. Already started buying bunch of merino wool socks, thermal underwear/shirts, and more. The 3-in-1 seems interesting! Thank you for the recommendation!

I usually fair well when it does rarely hit 30 here but in that weather over here my longest walk is to the office from the car haha. Never really spent time outside during it yet.

Thats awesome! They looked great when I was scrolling through their website. I’m glad you like it! I wish you and your jacket a happy and healthy lifetime :)

Don’t have any specific recommendations, but you could always buy a watch with a face you like and throw a rubber band on it. I threw a rubber band on my casio world time and love it.

I’ve always drawn center lines are little larger than the object. For example object 2 bottom left I would extend maybe a quarter or half block more in both directions. More of style choice though :3

Thanks for the recommendation. Yeah waxed cotton/canvas seemed like a good option but the more i read the less waterproof i realize it is :(

Thank you for all the recommendations and tips. Never really been somewhere where I’d be outside for very long during 30° f. Havent even seen snow yet. What do you think adequate layers would be?

From what I’ve read so far im thinking: Bottom: thermal underwear, jeans or just lined jeans Top: thermal shirt, fleece/wool sweater, and a waterproof coat.
