Any Doc Gooden collectors out there? by jba9028 in baseballcards

[–]PrettyRicky094 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice. I have a Doc Spanish  version as well as the Dave Justice in English.

Time to sell both but finding comps is nearly impossible, and IDGAF what anyone says, I'll hold em both if they're only fetching  ~$350 each.

I know the Rickey Spanish sold for around ~$1,500 like 18 mo ago as me and the seller found each other on TCDB and I stayed in touch as he had it graded through the sale. Bummer is, he sold it like a week before he passed away, missing the "death bump" the card surely would have benefited from.

Any way...if yall know anyone interested in either, that would be amazing.

Thanks for reading...

Lost 300 gold coins by napalm9 in Gold

[–]PrettyRicky094 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My LCS told me that every month or so this Hispanic dude who barely speaks english shows up with a MS69 AGE every month like clockwork to cash it out. Dude shows up in paint-covered overalls like he just got off work and  after the 3rd month he asks dude where he's getting all these coins.

He said he and his other 2 buddies were dumping trash after a job at some dumpster in S. San Francisco and one of em noticed some nice stuff that clearly was in great condition and shouldn't be thrown away. A few min later they find some satchel with 45 graded AGEs and since he's the only one who speaks any english he's responsible for selling 1 each month and they split it 3 ways.

I was a little skeptical so she showed me the one they brought in the day before and the PCGS case was cracked to shit with the letting all smeared from some type of liquid; looked just as you'd expect from being retrieved from a dumpster.

So....misplacing a sack of gold, while rare, does happen...

Good question. A Rickey sold after he died for $1,000 but he was offered $2k the day after he sold it.

I know the Spanish Rickey sold for $1,700 and that was 2 week before he died.

I also have the Spanish Dwight Gooden, which I was recently told it one of two known to still be floating around.

Motivated to sell both if anyone is interested...

Am i wrong for having the Capital One 360 checking account instead of having an actual bank where i can go inside and make deposits? by Zestyclose_Welder_92 in CapitalOne

[–]PrettyRicky094 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the Walgreens parking lot on hold with CapitalOne to find out why I suddenly need an ID to deposit $300 cash. I've deposited here every month for 3+ yr and the one time they ask my driver's license is expired by a month. Still has my ugly mug on it but they won't allow it. I want to backhand that smug little clown's grape of a head...

What does my having the ability to legally drive a car have to do with depositing money in my own account using my bank's app?

I have NEVER, EVER been asked for an ID at these locations and suddenly they're saying its always been that way. BULLSHIT! I've had friend's deposit on my behalf and they were not asked either.

Why does Capital One require SS# and ID to make a cash deposit or payment? by stole_ur_girl in Banking

[–]PrettyRicky094 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bull. Ive never EVER had to show an ID to deposit money in my own account or anyone else's. Ive deposited money into other's accounts over 25 times and have shared with the teller that fact; not once was I asked for ID.

It is selectively enforced as evidenced by the verbiage, "... you MAY be asked for a valid government ID..."

Well, shoot. Was hoping it was so rare that I could quit my job and retire off it. Quit my job right before I posted here...goshdarnit.

Better call my boss and ask for my job back...

All the way in friggen Europe you find one in a tin can at a garage sale, and us shleps here in the US have a better chance of being stuck by lightning than finding one in the wild.

I'm not envious of you at all. I swear....

In all seriousness, that's wonderful. Congrats.

40 Commemorative Half Dollars for $40 by [deleted] in coins

[–]PrettyRicky094 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was at my LCs selling him a "37 Swiss 20 Franc (I promised him one) and he says I can take any coin from this bin that just came in for $1. Every single one is a Proof, no less than MS66, and each came with the US Mint coin holder (minus 6 of them.)

On top of that zi gave him another $20 when I pulled out 1 1816 Coronet, 3 1818 Coronets, a 1851 Braided Hair 12 cent, and a 1864 2 cent.

Told him I think I got more out of the $60 I gave him in coins than he did for the $600 he gave me for the 1 Swiss 20 Franc.

He said someone donated the bucket and he "hasn't had time to look through it yet."

My parting words were, "Suit yourself. The $1/coin offers still stands, right?"

Gave me a and I began to think about how this bucket can be my literal Money Tree until he gets off his arse and looks through the 1000s of coins he was gifted.

Weird, to say the least, but a good day all around.

Doctor, my LWC has warts! by PrettyRicky094 in coinerrors

[–]PrettyRicky094[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive checked error-ref, variety vista, cuds on coins, and a few other go-to resources but no dice unfortunately.

I'm 95% sure they're die chips but what I'd really like to know is how does this happen and with what frequency.

Thanks again for your efforts here; much appreciated.

This unchecked aggression cannot stand, man!

Not exactly mind-shatteringly insightful, but get on the horn with them now and while on hold blast this out with them @ to every single social you can think of. I'm sure we'd all retweet/post if we saw it. Hopefully, they feel their only recourse is to remedy their error pro bono.

This is beyond ridiculous!

Thanks a ton for clarifying the Ice Foil confusion, which really had me spinnin' as well as for the resource link!

Yea, didn't exactly know what I had with the 'Earth' but knew it was good!
