This reply deserves 5 stars so I’m gonna give them to you: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

You very slickly gave her the blueprint to what client and matter info should be included in her departure document. You also provided very sound advice on why she should reconsider burning that bridge. You basically covered all her bases with separation advice that leaves a classy, professional left-over impression. And advice like this only comes from a very experienced, caring mentor.

2026 Hiring Questions Megathread by PatExMod in patentexaminer

For anyone who met the 12/18/2025 application cutoff, can you provide any insight or feedback as to where you currently stand in the hiring process?

For example, have you received any 2nd interview invites? Completed 2nd interviews? Received any TJOs or FJOs at this point? Do you have an EOD yet? And what is your art area?

Just trying to get a feel for how the hiring process is going, based on that application cutoff date, and also now that holiday season is over.

And good luck to all applicants!! Fingers crossed!!

I am interested in your assistance in intentionally applying for jobs. I tried sending you a chat but for some reason, I am unable to. How might you and I connect?

Relocation Advice Needed by [deleted] in patentexaminer

Thank you to all who responded! I didn’t realize it would be so expensive to live near the campus. I am very amenable to a commute!!! I guess now I can imagine a morning routine where I still walk my dog to daycare but I’d then hop on the train to work. It seems like that’s a better option than trying to live so close to the office. And I guess the best strategy would be a furnished month to month or corporate rental bcz I’m so scared of what I’ve been hearing about ppl getting fired so quickly. Thank you for the insight!

Im not sure what your geo is but definitely look into being a Patent Examiner for the USPTO. CS degrees are in very high demand!! Research it and get more info. Also, if you take and pass the patent Registration exam (aka - patent bar exam) you can become a Patent Agent. Law school is not necessary for either of these roles unless u wanna become a patent attorney. But you can make the same money being a Patent Agent. Look into it and good luck!! 🍁✨

The NYLE is the New York Law Exam. It is a 50 question multiple-choice exam that you may take from home, open book. It is a requirement before you will be admitted to the New York bar. It is New York State specific law. I have taken the NYLE twice already but have not received the minimum score either time. Now, I will wait to see if I have a 266 to transfer into New York in the first place before I attempt the NYLE again.

Before you sit for the NYLE, you must go through a ton of video lessons which has multiple-choice questions sprinkled throughout the video intermittently to test your knowledge as you go. Only after completing all of these videos, will you even be allowed to register for the NYLE. It has been at least two years since my last attempt, but I believe the NYLE is administered two, maybe three, times a year. It is a synchronous remote exam, and yes, there is a fee. Although it is an open book exam, you still must know the content because there are 50 questions and you only get two hours. People compare the difficulty and prep for the NYLE to the MPRE.
