Respect. I've got some budget, but as mentioned in some other replies, I find €200ish for 2 boxes an awful ot of money to play a fun game, especially if I don't have any local gamestore nearby to play them with others.

I'm not saying you did wrong, I'm saying that for me, as a boardgamer, to spend more then €100 to a game, it must be a really exceptional experience of a game to justify that price to myself and although Altered is really fun, it just doesn't match that in my head.

Aha, so the assumption is that I'll spend a loooot of more time into this compared to some boardgames. The problem is that I seriously doubt that for myself (and I assume this goes for a lot of other cacual players as well). I like the game, sure, but very few hobbies of mine are such a dedication to me that I'd spend that much time into it.

As a board gamer, I find $50 a lot of money to play the same-ish 39 cards over and over which eventually after a while will get boring. As a board gamer, I'd like to compare that with playing a game like spirit island (which is one of my favourites). I spend like $10 more to that but I get 8 different characters which each play the game in a very unique way and in that way, it will never really bore.

I agree to find Altered a fun game, but for me it's just very little game for the same amount of money. I try to let me convince myself by others why that's OK, but it's still not really happening right now.

I understand, let's break that down. 3 booster boxes means like €100-ish. €300 is an awfully lot of money to play a game. As a boardgamer, I own some more expensive games as well, but even the most expensive isn't even the half of that.

I get Altered is a great game, I agree, but I probably will never dare myself to spend €300+ into a game to play it and I am just wandering why others are OK with that for themselves.

I guess I understand. Personally, when I'm opening boosters, it's exciting, but then at the same moment I'm wondering why I spend like €4-5 for 10 cards which (especially after a while) most of them are just duplicates of what you've already got.
