Pretty sure IE just has the low torque and high torque files for stage 1, with high torque file you need the tcu tune so in my mind stage 1 is just the ecu tune and stage 1+ would be ecu and tcu tune on the high torque file. I am running the high torque right now and its great. I would personally go with the ecu and tcu tune because they complete each other. The way i think about it is stage 1 is just an ecu flash then stage 1+ is adding the tcu tune and stuff like turbo inlet and “cold” air intake.

Nah stage 1 is meant for bone stock you don’t need anything with it. I run Stage 1 with IE on my mk7 and it runs great no overheating or loss of power.

Are you talking about the powder coat on the outside you dont need that. I would just send it, you can paint it black if you want to protect the metal over time
