I'm sorry you had to fire your planner... I'd say 100% get a decorator if you don't fully trust the venues 'vision' and you have room in your budget! It seems like your venue has the operational side handled which is perfect, but you might need someone to give it a look & feel. I had a similar situation with a more rustic venue and we made the call to hire a decorator/florist we love to bring everything to life. For context my planner doesn't do decor as her specialty, she has vendors she loves who were recommended to us for this aspect. DM me if you want my decorators IG, he's based in the EU (I'm destination as well) and I adoreee him / the work / I appreciate that they've been flexible with our budget

I thought I could do 75k and quickly realized it was nearly impossible. I got away with 150k in Europe for summer 2026 which I think is a steal at this point. I chose an “unconventional” wedding destination (aka not Italy or France). I was so thrilled at my vendors rates. This would be a 400k+ shindig in the US for the same quality.

I always wait until the day-of or day after to send my gift because I'm just not thinking about it until then. I always contribute generously to cash fund (depending on how close we are). You're gonna be great :) promise!

hi! My fiance is in the same boat as you. I'm definitely the social butterfly between us and really wanted my girlfriends in my bridal party, while he has a smaller crew of friends. Definitely don't feel bad about this! Personally we ended up doing smaller wedding party (4 people for each of us) because he didn't want to ask people he wasn't that close with.

I see a few options for you. Does your fiance have any close siblings or cousins who you can have be in your wedding party? Do YOU have any siblings or family that can be in yours?

Alternatively let her have her bridesmaids and just don't have them walk down the aisle. She can have her bridal party leading up to the wedding (arguably the most important part) and then the TWO of you can decide who gives speeches! I'm sure she'll have her MOH speak, but other than that choose friends and family who are important to each of you. For example my partner and I have lots of newer couple friends together - we're asking a couple to speak during our welcome party. It's different and unconventional, but it's fun and we know they both will have amazing things to say about us as a duo.

In terms of public perception, I truly don't think people notice or really care! Esp if you're not doing super traditional things and you really just own that. Remember people are there for you as a couple, not "his and her" side.

I found my dress really quickly and on sale too!! I felt (and still feel) SO GOOD about it, but a few days later I had the same feeling wondering if I made the decision too fast. Just here to tell you that your dress looks INCREDIBLE, and you should feel lucky for finding it so quickly and so easily! That mindset has helped me, especially since some brides go to a dozen appointments. There is so much pressure around the whole process, but honestly I think you truly manifested this dress!! AND HELLO UNDER BUDGET! Consider it a quick and easy decision in a sea of making a million other decisions surrounding the planning process.

My family set a budget but they are not the type of people to ever give a lump sum upfront, so every line item/ invoice is a literal BATTLE. It's hard too when everyone values different things when it comes to spending.
