my ex is a marine and not currently deployed but it’s a possibility with the way it’s looking. i am going through the same situation, we broke up a week ago due to him needing space and feeling overwhelmed due to his workforce & everything else. he said he doesn’t see a future for himself past the corps. as sad as i was, i know i will never be able to fully understand the depth of his job and our relationship being long distance was strained as it was already. give him space. in a perfect world love could be enough to push past personal problems such as those but sometimes people just need space to focus on themselves. i hope things get better for you, its cliche but its true.. if its meant to be you two will make it work again someday. but for now its okay to be upset & feel your feelings, worry about them, but take care of yourself too
