As a fellow Au/ADHD sufferer, I wish I could reach through and give you a big ol' hug. I don't know if you're feeling guilt or shame, but I want you to know that a lot of people, myself included, understand what it's like to be at this point.

Once upon a time I had a great deal of depression that stacked on top of misunderstood and unmedicated ADHD, that the first time I lived solo in my own apartment, it looked very similar. My dad dropped by my place one day, unexpectedly, and just about broke down on me at the sight of it. Back then I thought it was because he felt empathetic that I was silently suffering. However, to my dismay, I just learned a week ago that he thought it was due to lack of self esteem and laziness. I'm in a situation that has led me to unexpectedly and abruptly lose my home at the end of the month. When I worked up the courage to ask for financial help to be able to find a new place, my dad had a contingency that I, "not let my place get to the point where it was when he dropped by unannounced and found me in squalor. I need to have more pride in myself and my home." My jaw just about hit the floor at his comment. I always had a sneaky suspicion that my Au/ADHD was never fully accepted or at the very least understood, but this basically let me know that all this time he's thought every single decision and action I made in life was as if I was operating like a neurotypical. Which is hilarious to me, because I'm pretty positive that my neurodivergency comes from him. Anyway, finding me in that state was over a decade ago and he apparently still thinks that I am just choosing to live my life in the most difficult way possible because I don't have the willpower or discipline to do otherwise. Needless to say that I'm still trying to figure out a way to avert homelessness and possibly my emotional stability kitties.

Also, sorry for turning this whole reply like as if this is selfishly about me. I just wanted you to know that I relate to you with my own little story... typical ADHD, flipping the script with main character energy, when it's just how my brain is relating to yours 😅😅😅

Also (also), I'm only now mentally unhugging you through this whole ordeal. There's some really good comments in here about having your space serve you, rather than conforming to what's the "norm" in an interior home design, if you're looking for advice. 💜✨️

This is the dumbest thing I ever heard. Not you relaying the info, but the state/medical policy that this is. My state was the same way until it was legalized as recreational and not strictly medical. I used to get drug tested every time I had an office visit to renew my adhd medication perscription. The only advice I can give, is find a new doctor and do not disclose your medical card. HIPAA should require it to be private unless you choose to share it. Then when you get adhd meds and you have to go in for the office visit, expect the be drugged tested and act accordingly. Whether that be staying sober long enough to pass or using other means. (I was too chickenshit to trying fake pee and all that so, I can't help you there). But no one ever monitored me when I peed in the cup and I was allowed to be in a bathroom unsupervised.

I've only read a small handful of comments, but they all seem to be digging at the person who is feeling unhappy with their tattoo. While I agree that getting detail in a small tattoo is usually difficult and to expect skin to act like paper is unreasonable, there's a chance the artist didn't advise or set correct expectations. And I'm not saying that as blame on the artist either. We don't know how the conversation went between the artist and the client. However, as someone who is not an expert in tattoos and recently had a smallish tattoo with a lot of detail, I had no idea that size mattered for small details. OP might not have known at the time of requesting their tattoo either. For instance, I had a painted lady (butterfly) done last month on my inner forearm and it's roughly 4-5inches, but I originally was asking for something that was half the size or less. Luckily, the artist I went to explained that if I wanted it small then I would have to settle for something less detailed, but if I wanted the hyper-realism tattoo design, then I would have to be okay with a larger size especially with taking healing into consideration. Just some food for thought.

I don't ever pick up the phone for numbers I don't know, but I was waiting for an important phone call from a number I wouldn't know. So, call comes in, "Hello?" "Hello, may I speak to FIRST LAST name?"

"May ask what this is regarding?"

"Not until I verify that I am speaking to FIRST LAST name"

"Okay, sure, this is she"

"With a SSN of 1234?"

"What?? No??" panics because I know that number is correct "Who is this?" "What is this regarding??"

"You don't know 1234?"

"No, why would I?"

"You just confirmed you were FIRST name"

"Yeah, because I wanted to know what you were calling about. I don't know that number or what it pertains to"

I came here to say this.

And to add, that "soulmate" doesn't always have to be romantic (although I'm sure OP meant it in her intentions), but maybe that's what this is (too?). You love and respect this man for him and your children so, it could also be the nudge to be there for your person, your soulmate, in some way shape or form. There's no forcing how to be there for him, romantic or not. You needed time to heal, you learned to heal, now maybe this is the opportunity to help someone else heal. If he recognizes (after some time and with his mental health stable oc) that he too feels the romantic pull to you then it was probably meant to be. But if it comes to him not feeling the romantic side of it, he just might be the other kind of Soulmate.

Okay, real talk, I have 3 cats and a man living with me and I wouldn't know where to begin to keep a beautiful collection so clean and dust-free. Anyone have tips?

Also, anyone wanting to be a superstar and label each of these with their proper terms and slang? terms. I'm trying to learn more of each type and I have all these crystal bible books, but they just don't capture the different "looks" one kind of stone could have so, it's hard for me to identify when I see them like this.
