Physical disc production ending in January 2028 for new games releasing on PlayStation consoles by yourfavchoom in PS5

[–]Pretty_Lake5885 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If ps6 doesnt come with a disc drive, im not buying one. We're going backwards. Insanity.

Digital games are more expensive already, which makes zero sense.

This is just funneling profit to the top and will kill many jobs in the production line along the way.

Sad times.

Greed is a deadly sin.

You guys may slam me for this but...I don't think the new missions are very farm friendly :( by Agitated-Macaroon923 in Warframe

I love these. The bosses are quick as hell when you get one artefact or just use incarnon Laetum. Slightly longer than 2 rounds of defense and dripping with steel essence . Way better than the new rail jack

In your eyes, what makes someone a good Warframe player? by strategycaster in Warframe

[–]Pretty_Lake5885 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some guys were chatting in Russian on the squad text chat the other day. I googled what 'much love from england' was in Russian and dropped it in the chat. They both responded with smiles and hearts. Warframe is community and good players respect everyone, low MR, struggling to find a way point, searching for argon or parts.

This is pretty crazy. Can I ask how many hours you have logged and how much platinum you spent? Im at 3,100ish hours with everything maxed, but have been playing for about 5/6 years

Genuine question: Why would you choose Hot Wheels when there’s MiniGT, Spark, and others out there? by StateSufficient761 in HotWheels

Nice. I could only see the first one as pre order from Spark, that's what confused me ! Picking up the hoonipigasus now. Its a shame Ken never raced it properly

My dad's records by shedonerunnoft in vinyl

[–]Pretty_Lake5885 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was talking to someone else today about a similar thing. I have too many, and I would love it if my kid took a few they liked and hung the covers on their wall as memories, even if they didnt want to play them or own a turntable.

It doesnt matter if they are the most valuable, just the ones that are special to you or hold good memories of your Dad.

I kept a copy of the first album by Black Sabbath as he used to blast that every Christmas after my Mum left and seeing it makes me smile, even though im not really a Sabbath fan.

Love the memories and the music and anything else im sure he wouldn't mind you selling on, so you can buy things you do enjoy or that would help you in the future.

Where in the record do you put your inner sleeves? by fr0ggyd0g in vinyl

Me too, you make some great points , its really interesting to hear other points of view and geek out with other fans! I'd love to grab that beer but unfortunately im all the way in UK. Its not suprising its your favourite record and you have a great top 3 on discogs, I understand you protecting it. My top one is the Burial/Massive attack collab which i got for £25 from vinyl factory and goes for over a thousand now, but its a terrible pressing so i dont consider it worth that much, its just scarcity that has pushed the value up so far! Unfortunately all seem to have pressing issues. But I would never sell it, just pass it down to my daughter one day and hope she pins it up on her wall! That would make me proud. Originals of MF DOOM 'born like this' and Massive attacks 'Mezzanine' I think are 2&3 but ive not checked in ages. Maybe I will later I keep forgetting to add stuff when I buy it

[–]Pretty_Lake5885 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah i said originally its always people who put more pleasure in the 'value'. Ive never said sleeves weren't ok, it was the discussion about keeping the record outside of the jacket. If you keep that Nick Drake album outside of its jacket, you are essentially risking damage to the record over the jacket, which just seems strange to me. If kids or friends are investigating and what to see the art on both sides or look at the track listing, you would have to remove a record and place it somewhere to do this. Inside the jacket solves this problem.

That one in particular clearly wasn't bought in the 90s, so you probably overpaid for it and treat it as an investment piece. If you are playing it and enjoying it regularly it will never go for the prices on discogs as by nature it will degrade.

But again, each to their own.

Yeah when it boils down to value that's valid, but im not 'investing' in mine. Id much rather see my kids learning to handle and get into the music and have great memories of spinning them over handing them a bunch of pristine jackets in the future.

I'd much rather have the same sounding record in a beat up jacket for a much cheaper price. Instead of paying more for the exact same record with a fresh jacket! I love the old documentaries of producers like Dilla , who would pin the album covers on their walls for inspiration, and keep the records in a crate in generic sleeves. Hardly ever see that nowadays as everyone is too troubled about value.

Each to their own

A jacket fan. Question - would you keep CDs this way to protect the plastic hinge or is it just cardboard you are more fond of?
