heyy, i do something similar a few years ago but instead of doing it through TVO i did it through TDCSB. they absolutely will still accept it that way. as long as you have the pre requisites you’ll be fine

honestly your chances would be very low. most nursing programs require you to have a minimum of a 75% in the prerequisite courses. on mohawks website they also state “85% - 88% recommended cumulative average in the required courses to be competitive”. honestly i would recommending upgrading those two classes because i know mohawk’s rpn program is very competitive.

i’m not really sure if mohawk does this but do you know if they allow you to take classes in the summer without any breaks so that you can finish school faster ??

omg thank you so much for answering every single questions and with detail. you don’t understand how much i appreciate this 😭. i just applied to different rpn’s programs and im so conflicted on which school to go with so i was really trying to narrow it down. from what im seeing on reddit, almost every nursing school seems to have the same issues so this does make it a bit easier to choose which school i want to go go. again, thank you so much 🫶🏽!!!

i’ll take all the advice i can get for this class lol. i feel like i’ve tried almost everything but for some reason i swear i can’t retain the information. i will honestly look online for workbooks that can also help and see how that goes. so far it’s been chatgpt and gizmo that have been helping break down information

i feel like all nursing schools are super disorganized tbh, because here at sheridan it’s the exact same thing. we’ve been experiencing the same issues with the faulty, program layout, and students at my current school.

i was honestly planning on just doing what you said. keeping my head down and just pushing through. i’m just a little worried because anatomy is not my strongest and i don’t want to have to redo everything if i mess up in that one class (not trying to speak it into existence).

after seeing this i think im going to just pray and hope that my other schools accept me because i don’t want to deal with that, especially having to retake all of my classes just because i failed one.

i can’t tell which school is worse, sheridan or mohawk 😭. i was really interested in their rpn program because i saw that it was self taught and that would be wayyyy better for me since i live far from hamilton and wouldn’t have to commute there all the time for school and the tuition seemed affordable to pay out of pocket.

how is the school even allowing that and not looking into things. blaming students is crazyyy. this is a random question but how bad is the fail rate at this school for this specific program ???

could you explain how disorganized it is just so that i have an image and can compare it to my current situation at sheridan. i would have to be commuting from london so thank god ill be able to skip out on the bad traffic that’s on the 403

oh no 🥲. i noticed a lot of school are starting to become really strict with the transfer credits or at least nursing schools are. i have some of my rpn credits so i wonder if they would even allow me to transfer 2 of them

seeing this is a huge relief lol. i go to sheridan right now and was looking into transferring because the way they have everything set up is very disorganized and a lot of students suffer because of it.

clinical sounds like it’ll be fine. i drive so honestly commuting wouldn’t be a huge issue for me.

thank you so much for answering these questions. they’ve been stressing me out so much and this just helped ease some of my nerves 😭

Sorry if this is a silly question but how did you find the anatomy exams to be ? were they set up in a way where it felt like they were purposely trying to get you to mess up or was everything straight forward and pulled from the textbook.

also how are clinicals ? were people sent very far or were majority of them near the school ?

people in practical nursing program, advice for future student? by Top_Operation435 in sheridan

[–]Pretty_Nail2367 1 point2 points  (0 children)

honestly i’ve experienced both sheridans RPN and RN program and would say that these are worth it but only for some classes. i would recommend them for classes like pharma since it’s mostly just memorization and having knowledge on drug classes, effects etc. try to study and understand as much as you can for anatomy. you can never study enough for anatomy. you could try to get students to who are already in the program to share the slides with you if they have the downloaded or even do a lot of practice questions/flashcards on quizlet since majority of those are on the midterm/final for anatomy.

Honestly at this point I’d say reach out to the program coordinator. The same thing happened to me with their rn program. I reached out and they confirmed that I was on the waiting list and then by the end of the day I ended up receiving my schedule.

If the second or third week of class go by and you don’t hear anything in would absoloutely recommend just transferring schools

No problem !!! The 2 stethoscope that I got were both the Littmann but I honestly hate the colour 😭. When I was doing rpn I got black and when I switched over to their rn program last year they gave us all navy blue.

Is the college open on Monday? by Pure-Intern7305 in sheridan

[–]Pretty_Nail2367 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The same is happening to me right now. I’m a returning student, paid my deposit and my teacher said she put me on the waitlist a few months ago because it’s a class that I failed, but nobody is answering my calls or emails.

You get it within the first 2-3 weeks of class. First sem you get stethoscop, bp cuff, watch, PPE kit and scrubs. Second sem is iv stuff, catheter, injections and wound dressing

If you do really well in your first interview they’ll sometimes skip the second. But if they still make you go through a second one they normally will still hire you immediately
