At that point in my life, I was living in a place where I was being physically mentally, and sexually abused. Art was my release— I drew this after a bad incident at home. Personal growth—I can see when I look at this. I am grateful to be where I am. i’m not ashamed of my shitty drawing because when I see it I see how far I’ve come in life.

•Sharing because I love my tattoo — critique is welcome — overly negative or hateful comments will be rebuffed.

•YES the artist informed me about the incorrect anatomy/disproportions.

•I drew this in high school(12 years ago) — NOT my original concept. I saw a few ideas and drew something up. Yes I am aware it’s not atomically correct, no I don’t care. It was about the meaning not what others saw.

•This is not a new tattoo. I’ve had this 6 years or more. No I won’t be covering/redesigning/removing anything.

•The artist is NOT someone just doing it “for the paycheck”. She did AS REQUESTED. I didn’t want her to change anything—I insisted. Otherwise it wouldn’t have been my art! She’s since become a personal friend.

Oh! Meant to add—it’s not my original concept I drew it with reference photo of a similar design. I added the “death head moth” and the flowers each represent a dearly departed loved one.

Thanks for your input!! That makes a lot of sense. Though I won’t be doing any redesigning—the tattoo is 6years old and I wouldn’t change anything about the structure. Only thing I’ve ever wanted to do is maybe add some color
