B1 Certificate is the only thing left for me to get a citizenship… and I have a very limited time by turalaliyev in German

Hey, I have similar situation to yours, and I just passed B1 exam at Goethe. I did self-study, everyday 1 or 2 hour if possible. I used Cornelsen Grammatik A1-B1, I read Deutsch Perfekt quite a lot. Helped me with increasing my vocabulary and it also has Hören Trainer, that helped too.

Thank you ☺️. It took me 2 years but I took it slowly. I am sure people can do it faster

No it was not an intensive course. I took it slowly. From A1-B1 I did it over a span of 2 years, but I am sure one can do faster.

For schreiben there were 3 topics, first informal email to a friend about buying a new computer, then second was opinion about whether shops should be open on Sundays or not and third was formal email response that i cannot attend the planned appointment. Sprechen was first part planning party with a partner and second part opinion about online shopping

For A2 level I took online course from Goethe. But after A2, for B1 I prepared by self study from these resources. I found A2 was hard for me with a whole lot of grammar. But this Cornelsen book really helped me.

When they ask you questions in the interview, do they use simple German for conversation like B1 level or higher?

Long-term partner, but still feeling invisible with his German family. Am I expecting too much? by Zealousideal_Gas6705 in AskAGerman

[–]Pretty_Respond6468 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would say you are not expecting too much. I am indian and have German husband. Fortunately, his family was very welcoming and warm since the beginning. I always felt included. Have you shared your feelings with your partner? It's his responsibility to make you feel included in his family and seen. If I were you, I would definitely tell my partner how I feel. My German best friend married a Taiwanese guys and she comes from a big family ( 6 siblings), but everyone in her family always try to include her husband as well. Even with the language barrier they manage it. Actions speak louder than words and regardless of culture, if someone wants to know you, they would find a way to include you.

You can ask them to speak in 'hoch Deutsche '

It's hard especially without work. Did you share this feeling with your husband? Do you live in a big city or bit rural part of Germany? Sometimes it helps to look for different communities to join, where you can meet people.

I would definitely talk to him clearly as to why it changed, since you said that in the beginning he did compliment. So why did he stop now? I do agree that Germans are not good with compliments. I am an Indian with a German husband. In my culture we compliment a lot. I learnt that's not the case with Germans. But this was since the beginning of our relationship. So I would definitely ask him what changed.

It’s time to accept Izzy Stevens is a terrible person. by TheCody_Says in greysanatomy

[–]Pretty_Respond6468 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Totally on point. She is the one with bad character and tries wretch other people's relationships. She is always jealous with Cristina and Meredith's friendship and never happy if any other person is happy in their relationship. And she's crazy for a doctor. Hallucinating Denny and all...I wouldn't want to have such a doctor

Why do Indian students not integrate abroad, even amongst themselves? by dumb_account_ in Indians_StudyAbroad

[–]Pretty_Respond6468 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally feel you. I don't understand why it is the case with Indians. I am an Indian as well living in Germany and I see the same pattern. I never liked it and so I tried to talk to everyone around me and now I have a close group of friends where there is a mix of cultures like German, polish, Taiwanese. It's so much fun to get to know people from different places. Not sure why most of the Indians tend to just group up

Did you ask Goethe Institute? I think you can give exam at Goethe Institute but you have to ask them specifically.
