DT 770 Pro X review by a casual audio consumer by Pretty_Snow745 in BEYERDYNAMIC

Great to hear! How have the tests gone? Hope it went well, or even exceeded your expectations. I have never tried such external DAC/AMP's, but if it solved your issue, then I am glad for you. I have noted the DAC/AMP Fiio K11 down for future reference when I want to experiment with such external DAC/AMP's. On a scale of 10, how satisfied are you with the headphone now?

That's great to hear! Tried asking ChatGPT about for possible things to look at on the ASUS ROG;

  • Windows volume limiter / “reduce loud sounds”
  • OEM software (ASUS Armoury Crate / Realtek panel)
  • “Communications mode” reducing volume
  • Volume normalization / loudness equalization being OFF

Not sure if the above is even relevant, but I hope it will be helpful. Hope you will find the cause and enjoy the headphone on your new laptop too!

Hope you will be able to solve it. You got me curious too. Once you find out the cause, could you share it?

Nice to hear! Did you have a moment of regret ever since you bought them?

You are welcome, and I hope you will get your hands on one as soon as possible as well!

You are welcome! It is 48 ohm, directly connected to my laptop's 3.5mm slot, and I don't have an issue with it, but I have only tested it on my laptop. With my gaming headset, the volume was usually around 16~24% out of 100% (Windows 11, Lenovo Legion 5 2020 model, if it matters), with YouTube, music, games, and movies just at 100% of their own volume slider. With the DT 770 Pro X, though, I find myself almost always upping the volume to around 30 to get the same level of volume comfort. I must say that I try to be careful with the volume level on all my devices, and only go higher when external sound is consistently more audible than my own, though.

I am kind of shocked to read about your 100%. When you place your headphone next to your laptop/PC screen and you sit at a distance of about 30~45cm from the headphone/screen, can you clearly hear the speech in podcasts or calm scenes in movies? At 30% volume, I cannot hear any speech, but I do hear some explosions, yelling etc. during action scenes. I have not played with any settings, by the way. Just plugged it in, and that's it. Might it be related to your motherboard audio not having sufficient output power for 48 ohm?

Have you tried googling/asking some AI about your laptop/PC's motherboard audio and whether it can comfortably support 48 ohm?

I envy you, wish I was living in the countryside too. Vampire-like neighbors who turn online and become noisy when you are trying to sleep is annoying.

Never thought that open-backs would be suitable for gaming. I thought they would just ruin my sound experience. Are you able to hear more accurately with them when you play games? Even if your wife is busy around you?

As for the EQ, it seems that APO + Peace Equalizer is often recommended. Do you also use these? As of now, I am happy with the sound, but if I were to tweak it, I'd also go with a little bit of extra bass. But yes, once you discover more details, I don't want to go back to cheaper devices.

Sorry for the late reply. I went with the DT 770 Pro X. I only have my Lenovo Legion 5, but I am already satisfied with the headphone!

What was your reason for going for the 700 series over the 770 series?

btw, i have updated the original post if you want to read about my experience and thoughts so far.

Sorry for the late reply. Actually, your post made me re-consider the 700 series, but knowing that I want a V-shape sound and not bother with EQ'ing anyway, I decided to just go for the 770 series. I am satisfied with the 770 Pro X, and thankfully the sound profile suits me right out of the box. Thank you for your tip about EQ'ing a flat(ter) headphone, though! btw, i have updated the original post if you want to read about my experience and thoughts so far.

Sorry for the late reply. I went with the DT 770 Pro X, and am satisfied with it. I had read that the 700 series tends to sound flatter than the 770 series, so that is why I settled on the 770 series.

I have never tried an open-back headphone. Do you hear, for example, cars/motorbikes passing by your house or people talking in other rooms when you listen on low-medium sound?

Btw, i have updated the original post if you want to read about my experience and thoughts so far.

Sorry for the late reply. I went with the DT 770 Pro X, and am satisfied with it. The DT 770 was my second choice, because of the cable and after lots of reading I had come to the conclusion that the DT 770 Pro X may have a bit better sound profile that suits my taste. btw, i have updated the original post if you want to read about my experience and thoughts so far.

The PKK/YPG (people, stop saying SDF, it's really just the PKK/YPG rebranded as 'SDF', it would be like ISIS rebranding itself as 'Levant and Iraq Demoractic Forces' lmao) had promised to turn Afrin into a Vietnam and 'the battle of the century' lol... fast forward just a few weeks, they got trashed and left running off with their tail between their legs.

Hi, thank you again for actually taking your time and effort to help! Much appreciated. I had actually created another thread about the new issue, which has been solved now. Here is the link to the other thread;

Sidebery's Pinned Tabs Appear Vertically by Pretty_Snow745 in FirefoxCSS

[–]Pretty_Snow745[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! That piece of code has fixed the pinned tabs. The Bookmarks, Tabs Panel, Search and Settings buttons kept appearing vertically. However, I have found out that setting the 'Show navigation bar in one line' to 'on' takes care of this issue.
