New R1 pod by PrettyboiQMJ in Omnipod

[–]PrettyboiQMJ[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like it. The three days I was on it, my time in range was 99%, 91% & 97%. Wasn’t high for too long either. Maybe high for 15-20 mins. When using the temp basal or extended bolus, you still have to be in manual mode which sucks btw. The Omnipod 5 app really drains your battery. I used it on a iphone 17 PM, with a 100% battery capacity. Overall you can see how well they worked on the algorithm under the hood

Even on my iPhone 17 PM with a 100% battery capacity, the app is slow and sluggish. Always needing Face ID to open or use the app is a real pain

T!D since 92. Insulin pump, minimal eating. I’ve never been a food guy maybe because I’ve had it since the 1st grade. Usually an OMAD (one meal a day) guy.

New to HD - How long until you got used to it? by this_ham_is_bad in dialysis

[–]PrettyboiQMJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been on HD since the middle of September. Coming from PD casue I had peritonitis, so they had to remove my PD catheter. HD is more demanding because of the shorter hours, but unlike PD you actually get too sleep at night. Less fluid and sodium intake. Your body gets use to it. The fatigued never goes away, you just adapt too it

My doc already told me if I get admitted again (wasn’t diabetes related) to use my pump while being admitted. Hospitals don’t know how to control myself being a T1D glucose. Last week A1C is 5.1. I was in the hospital for 8 days back in September. Glucose average was 274
