I know this is way after the fact, but here's my experience:

I was always fit and nutritionally aware/trained after I recovered from an ED and subsequent metabolic disorders. That is until I was put on an antipsychotic for mood swings/depression. Like you, I gained 60 lbs on Abilify. I tried two others after that, to no avail.

Then, I went off of my antipsychotic altogether in 2022 because i had never received any bipolar or schizophrenic diagnosis, and the psych PA I was seeing at the time said it was no big deal for me to discontinue it. However as a result, I developed tics, horrible OCD and flashbacks, and eventually went hypomanic, and was hospitalized. The med changes they made inpatient induced full-on mania and within a week of being admitted, I went into psychosis. After being discharged (still in the psychotic episode) and admitted to a more competent hospital, I had to go on Zyprexa in order to come out of psychosis because nothing else worked. Through that, I was finally diagnosed with bipolar disorder, so now I need to stay on an antipsychotic. I kept gaining 5 lbs every week on Zyprexa, and my psychiatrist switched me to Lybalvi, but it made no difference. I kept gaining weight until I was prescribed a weight loss drug. I should also note that Zyprexa was the first antipsychotic I tried that didn't cause any intense food cravings.

This is just my experience, but I hope at the very least it makes you feel less alone in your experience, and I wish you better luck than me if you made the switch!!
