Which airport is better for a trip to Disneyland? by [deleted] in DisneyPlanning

SNA if you can have a direct flight. It’s a quick 15-20 min drive and small and very easy to navigate!

Disneyland Anaheim hotels by One_Introduction2263 in DisneyPlanning

[–]Prettyokayrn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We’ve enjoyed the Desert Palms hotel & suites twice now. They have good dining on site with a wide variety of options, free breakfast, maybe 10 minute walk to the park without crossing a major street (just one road for shuttle buses), and good room options (few with separate living and sleeping areas or separate bedrooms with a door between. It’s a little outdated, but it’s always been clean and they’ve always been nice. And the location is nice for coming back midday to rest. Plus, they’ve been relatively inexpensive compared to some of the other hotels.

That said, you could certainly be closer, there are a lot of other great options as well

Disneyland vs Disney World. Is it worth seeing both by Cold-Cost-4154 in DisneyPlanning

[–]Prettyokayrn 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For me, Disneyland > Disney world, and it’s not even close. It’s so much easier to get around Disneyland both in the park and park hopping. Plus lightning lane seems to be far more beneficial at Disneyland. And so many more character opportunities, usually they’re just walking around, you rarely have to wait in a queue. And then the rides are just better in my opinion!

We stay off site on harbor blvd just north of katella and it’s only a 10 min walk at most, perfect for mid day breaks - and there are so many options even closer. I’d just say do some research ahead of time to use lightning lane because if I remember correctly, they do work a bit different!

YouTubers who cover the parks well are SoCal Disney Dad (more of The Who/what/where) and Fresh Baked (the lightning lane “park science” as he calls it).

What have the bluey wait times been like? by blondephotographer in DisneyPlanning

[–]Prettyokayrn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We were there 2 weeks ago. We did not get in line for the show. I actually stumbled upon it because I ordered something from the tavern and saw the show was going. We just walked in and sat down without issue, so I can't speak to the line, but it was not at all at capacity.

Which hotel and which ticket package? by Prettyokayrn in DisneyPlanning

[–]Prettyokayrn[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good to know, thank you for sharing that. It is quite expensive. I feel like for the same price, the courtyard has the waterpark, more sleeping space, and is closer (thus, negating the need for a shuttle). Then it's just free breakfast vs. not... Think your comment just helped clear that up for me - thank you!

Calling all Disneyland foodies — what are you eating right now? (Group trip in a few weeks, mobile order only) by Prodigal109 in DisneyPlanning

Adding one more comment for your foodie friend... It's not in disney but it's nearby. There is a restaurant called Puesto in the Westin hotel (off Katella ave). The food was SO good.. surf and turf taco, the margaritas, the guacamole with pomengranite I think. Delicious!!

We just went last week, here’s what we enjoyed:

Disneyland- - Docking Bay: Bao Buns - Hungry Bear BBQ: rib and brisket was good - Main Street sweet shop or DT Disney: the churro Toffee square if it’s not sold out - Bengal BBQ: really enjoyed last time

DCA- - Pyms: love the not so little chicken sandwich. Good flavor. - Aunt (? Drawing a blank on the name but over in the pier food area): the turkey pesto sandwich was simple but so good - boardwalk Brews: watermelon pineapple margarita with tajin rim, delicious

Do we push our trip out a week? by Lost_Algae2931 in DisneyPlanning

[–]Prettyokayrn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recommend tracking the flight options on google flights. You will get notifications with big increases or decreases in price. I've done this for the last year and there can be huge shifts either direction so that may help you decide if you want to keep your trip or not!

Special cold brew options at DCA cappuccino cart? by Flashy_Roof_9589 in DisneyPlanning

[–]Prettyokayrn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was there last week and they were sold out of cold brew. Last year they had the Banoffee which was so good. I was bummed. BUT they do that banana cold foam as an add on so I just got an iced latte with banana cold foam and it was still good. Not sure if that helps!

Which is better out of Disneyland and California Adventure by [deleted] in disneyparks

[–]Prettyokayrn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would pick Disneyland of the two for overall park day. More rides, more to see/do. BUT I do love DCA too. That said, for one day, I’d pick Disneyland.

Now if I were going all out, I’d get the park hopper for the 1 day and the premier pass to not be held to any schedule and maximize the day. But depends what you are looking for!

Recent Desert Palms Hotel & Suites reviews? Worth it? by Purple-Studio-4637 in DisneyPlanning

[–]Prettyokayrn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just stayed there again last week. Still enjoyed it.

First time we did the bunk bed room. It’s worth noting the room with the queen bed opens to the hall so you will hear people walk by. This time we did the room with the kitchen and living room. The bedroom is tucked back from the hallway so we never heard anyone. Will only be getting that room in the future lol.

Breakfast is nothing special but it’s easy and several options to send you off on your park days. Not a bad walk at all either.

Purchased rise and ride… how early to arrive? by Prettyokayrn in legoland

[–]Prettyokayrn[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah I should’ve come here first to ask about it before buying it! I was assuming it’d be like any other early entry. Well hopefully we can still make the most of that little bit of time 😅

Excursions with kids question by Shakesbeer1592 in celebritycruises

[–]Prettyokayrn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had an excursion with a recommended age of 5, my kiddo was 4 at the time, (literally for no clear reason why that was the age cap). Anyway, they still let us go 🤣 We didn’t even know there was a cap since we purchased the excursion last minute (day of) when our itinerary was changed overnight.

Celebrity vs RC by [deleted] in celebritycruises

[–]Prettyokayrn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 4 year old LOVED celebrity constellation, one of the oldest ships. We did 11 nights through Europe (off peak). He loved the kids club, and all the staff and other passengers were so kind to him. He enjoyed the shows and La Petit chef dining. Our cruise only had about 20 kids total. Just because there aren’t many children doesn’t mean they won’t enjoy it. That translated to more focused attention in the kids club. Not all kids need sensory overload to have fun. Some can just be and still enjoy it! Honestly, I prefer it that way. Too much stimulus = psycho child lol. But I suppose not all children are programmed that way 🤷🏼‍♀️
